Technically it's working, but from UX - quotes blend together with replies and they are hard to read. And text contrast, it's making my eyes tired quickly and sea-sick feeling.
I think there is big difference between changes and making usability and design for worse. If your car had 4 wheels and you removed 1 because some accessibility AI said so, it will still drive, but it will be quite uncomfortable.
Well, but if you and your team are happy, what are we to suggest something, we will adapt of course or adjust it via browser extensions.

It's hard to point out specifics, things feels "off", unproportional/disproportionate. For example avatar size against username. Now I need to read username to check which user replied, before that I could recognize users by avatars only. same as quote/reply size, they are simply blending together. And those golden lines everywhere. Check one-line replies, if user has banner now they get lines before and after the text.
So how forcing me to do more clicks is good UX? Before I could do this instantly. Yes, I do judge user, it's enough for me to confirm that if someone has 1000 posts but 100 reaction - I can safely ignore their content and skip it because I read a lot here, like really really a lot and every day, and it did help me to read more efficient. Now this functionality and usability is taken from me.
It's the opposite of improvement, some admin/moderator profiles are too red and jr vips are too blue, it's simply too much

It is the contrasts in texts that are the real problem, myself I use this new design with 150% upscale in chrome at this moment since contrasts suck.

Same way , page up and down should be present on top of each page on forum. Easy to move to different page without the need to scroll at bottom first.

Also, not sure if it's just me but differentiating members has become difficult too when reading a thread. For example: Exec Vips, Jr Execs doesn't standout because of the new color scheme and contrast. Everything just looks same.

I had 125% all the time as default for me. I changed to the default of 100%.
it's so much worse now, so this how regular people are seeing this, I need to put my face in screen now to be able to read haha.

I think it was kind of an appreciation and, more or less, a trust indicator for people like you who clearly provided value with their postings, uploads, etc.
I did not use this figure as a trust indicator; more like the ratio between Posts and Reactions.
Since people are "begging" with BS Posts, Guides, etc., to raise this KPI, I started to ignore it more and more.
From my point of view, the trust/credibility of someone who is truly adding value—like you do—should be measured differently, not by "likes."
To get rid of it (in the Thread) is probably demotivating.

No that little company called Google - they do a nice line in tools like Lighthouse but many other tools and user testing were also used.
Better and weird are subjective can you be more specific? Space on the left is the same but the layout does make it feel more open. This is what we were going for.
As per my previous posts we can't go back to the old one for reasons already given.
In dark or light theme? Screenshots always appreciated.

Text size is a thing, really it's the new font but understood.
Reaction score is still there if you hover over the profile.
Avatar size against in the posts?
Good pickup on the colours - that will be fixed.
The edges are not random—the rounded edges are for the username, and the more squared-off ones are for the badges.
Good glad you understood how the reaction score worked.
Moving the mouse to the user gives us so much more space to add extra information on the member it's not a massive ask if you want to see their reaction. But I appreciate the feedback; the location of the reaction score has struck a cord here.

You know that website's designs is the first thing visitors notice. It won't change what you feel about a design after weeks.

All those rich people on BHW.... Im on my 16" Notebook.
But one thing to add: Please do NOT change the mobile version. I think this was a mobile-first approach. On my iphone 15 max, everything looks perfectly.
