Hi Everyone,
I signed up here because I was told this was a good question to ask this sort of question. I have a small android app with around 3,000 daily active users. I would like to monetize the users with bandwidth sharing apps and wanted to ask here if anyone could recommend an sdk or share their experience.

If that app is in Google Play, it's str8 way to loose account

its allowed there are a lot of apps that do this
Sure, but lot of apps loosing their accounts. You have lot of options to monetize your users (payments, subscriptions, offer rewards etc) so take advantage of this potential.

bandwidth sdks get your dev account banned for malware fast. if you want real passive income, clean ad mediation is way better. with cas.ai for example (i use it) you get access to 20+ premium ad networks competing for your traffic in real-time. it automatically bumps your ecpms and maximizes fill rates globally without any manual waterfall optimization. it’s completely safe, pays way more long-term, and keeps your app alive.

Honestly, stay away from bandwidth-sharing SDKs. It's a fast track to getting your Play Console permanently banned because Google absolutely hates hidden proxy traffic, and the payouts are usually total peanuts anyway for the amount of user churn you get.

I wasted months trying weird alternative monetization tricks and single ad networks, barely making enough to cover coffee and my server costs. The real turning point for me was dropping the sketchy stuff and setting up proper mobile ad mediation through CAS.ai.

The difference was night and day. My eCPMs instantly shot up by 70% to 90% because the platform forces 20+ top networks (AdMob, AppLovin, Mintegral, etc.) to bid against each other in real-time auctions for every single impression. Within the first month, my overall revenue multiplied by over 2.5x just because it completely eliminated unfilled ad slots.

The best part is the whole backend runs on complete autopilot, so I don't have to waste hours manually tweaking waterfalls or stressing over compliance. I went from grinding side apps for pocket change to making a consistent monthly income that literally lets me live off my app portfolio full-time now.

If you already have the Android traffic, don’t risk your developer account's health for pennies with bandwidth sharing. Put a solid mediation layer on it, let the big networks fight for your impressions, and scale your business safely.

Allowed and “safe for Play” are different things. Google won’t care that other apps do it once some proxy traffic gets flagged from your package name. If you really want to test bandwidth monetization, do it outside Play and make it painfully clear to users what’s running, otherwise one report can burn the whole dev account.

Also that CAS post reads like an ad lol, but the general point is right... 3k DAU is enough to test mediation/rewarded/interstitials before touching proxy stuff. bandwidth money usually looks nice on paper, then chargebacks, bad retention and bans eat it.

Just because other apps are doing it doesn't mean they aren't getting banned every week. @ramonaflowerz most of those publishers have a conveyor belt of aged dev accounts and just redirect traffic when one goes down. if you only have one play console account and its your main, do not put a proxy sdk in there. i tried running one of those bandwidth sdks on a utility app last year and google nuked the account within 3 weeks, no warning. if you really want to go that route, distribute the apk on third party stores or your own landing page. for play store, stick to standard ads or native offers. 3k dau is decent but not worth losing your console over.

The mediation point above is solid, regardless of how that was phrased — ad mediation platforms (CAS.ai, AppLovin MAX, ironSource) are the standard safe alternative to bandwidth/proxy SDKs for exactly the reason mentioned: they let multiple networks bid for your impressions instead of locking you into one network's rates.

For 3k DAU specifically, you're at a decent size to start testing rewarded video + interstitials through a mediation layer rather than single-network integration. The eCPM uplift from real-time bidding between networks is usually noticeable even at smaller scale, and it keeps you compliant with Play Store policy.

Worth comparing a few mediation platforms before committing since fill rates and network partnerships vary quite a bit depending on your app's geo and category
