So I'm getting an SEO service where I can target 2 keywords in a Press Release. I put exact match anchor text for my home page and the other one was an inner link for one of my pages. Should this keyword be my most profitable/most searched keyword? Should it be exact match keyword, or would it be better to have a 7 word long anchor text with 2 keywords and some other words in between?

Then I got some spun content Web 2.0's. Should I point these to my main site or should I point these to the Press Release. I think that I shouldn't have spun content as a tier 1 link, right? What kind of keyword should I target and what kind of anchor text should I use?

Thanks- Hopeful

I pointed the Web 2.0's to the Press Release.

For my anchor texts I did variations of keyword/added words to keyword, but one of my main anchor texts is 7 words long... is this OK?

More variety of keywords is better. If you stock to your selling keywords you will probably fail soon. It doesn't look legit to Google.

I ended up going with all money words since this is my first SEO service, but I didn't repeat any and I had some long 7 word keywords.

Its pretty clear that you don't know what you're doing. NEVER point anything spun directly to your money site. That's asking for a nice penalty from Google. And for Press Releases, never put your keywords as anchor text! We're not in 2012 anymore! Only use your brand name and the homepage URL for Press Releases. You're promoting your company, not keywords.

I ended up pointing the spun content to the press release and I used money words for the spun content. For the press release I put my domain name/brand name and a 7 word keyword which is the title of one of my articles. I'm also getting a naked url to my homepage I believe.

What's your opinion on that?

I PM'D you...

I get the press release tomorrow, so still time for last minute changes. Any last minute advice anyone? (or advice for the future?)

It looks legit enough.

It seems you're writing for the algo. IMO, you should slowly get that out of your system.

Don't use spun content. You can only do so much article spins until google kicks you in the nuts. :)

Instead, try to reach out to a local journalist and send him/her your press release.

start with one then build your network from there.

one recommendation from a journalist beats spun content, any day.

Good luck! :)

Thanks, it seems that the Internet is getting smarter everyday.
Any online services (for anything related to SEO) you would recommend if I can't get local people to promote my website?
