    Hi,

lets just say that i want to follow this Anchor text ratio:

    anchortext.jpg

So i will use this ratio:

    Naked URL's (domain.com) - 20%
Branded Anchors (brand name) - 50%
Generic Anchors (any generic word) - 20%
    Partial Match/LSI Anchors - 5%
Exact Anchors (main money keywords) - approx 5%
    ------------

But i am building backlinks to homepage + inner pages too. So my question - should that ratio be for the whole website or should it be like this for every single page on my website?

    Example (no real website):
Homepage: asker1.com - main keyword "payday loan"
Inner page: asker1.com/payday-loan-for-unemployed - main keyword "payday loan for unemployed

What kind of anchor text ratio should i use for the inner page? Should I also link with the brand name etc. to this inner page to make the same anchor text ratio as on the homepage? Or should I use more specific words like "for unemployed" etc.?

    Thanks!

Got confused, the ratios are for the whole site, but at the same time you don't want to over optimize the anchor text for a single page

Hmm I found several articles stating otherwise, that i should keep the ratio basically same for every page if possible. Maybe someone else has an opinion on this?

    Home Page:
The whole purpose of anchor text variation is to make the link profile natural. In a natural link profile some page will have more links than others. Its also not possible to keep the same ratio for all pages. Not practical.

Honestly you're overthinking this, just look at the people ranking in your niche, what are their keyword ratios. That's what you want to aim for. As long as you don't over-optimize you will rank.
