Hey everyone! In 2013, I made a popular http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/631067-phpbuilts-idiot-proof-guide-authority-site-building.html here that's received over 130,000 views.
Here is version 2 of this guide, updated and improved for 2015!

Download the .pdf http://www.seowargames.com/on-page-seo/guide.pdf.

If you prefer the html version, http://www.seowargames.com/on-page-seo/.

I will answer any question about on-page SEO in this thread.

Nice! Your previous on-page seo guide was really usefull. gonna read this one right now

Perfect, I have something to read for today. Always enjoyed reading your threads.

This is awesome stuff Phpbuilt , just skimmed through the guide and it is nicely written .

Nice tutorial here, i have just started learning on page SEO. Downloaded the PDF for later use.

I'm always waiting for you to come back. Thanks for the awesome share, phpbuilt!

OH MY GOD! Finaly it is here 2015 GOD DAMN ON SITE VERSION!

Thanks buddy for another epic share!

Big thanks for sharing this!
Time to check out my websites again and see if there is updates to be made!

Thank You for sharing this. Do you offer any evaluation/SEO audit service for websites?

Awesome guide, yet another one from phpbuilt; much appreciated. What I found most interesting (and new) in this updated version is how to fight negative SEO by using de-optimization techniques.

One question: on your guide you mention your recommended keyword densities as follows:

One-word = 0.8 to 1.1%
Two-word = 0.7 to 1%
Three-word = 0.5 to 0.7%

These numbers are ONLY for the body area right? And these recommended figures should be used in conjunction with our keyword being in the title, H1 and URL right? That's how I got it.

An example for the keyword "best widgets":

Title: Looking for the best widgets? You have come to the right place!
H1 Tag: Best widgets on the market reviewed

URL: mywebsite.com/best-widgets
Keyword density on the article (whole body area actually not just the article, especially if using WP and its injected shit): 0.8% (between 0.7 and 1 for two word keywords as recommended above)

Am I going to get over-optimization penalty for the above example? Assuming no links (either external or internal) have been built so far. Sorry for the long post, but I just want to help everybody else as well get it RIGHT before applying it on their sites.

Hey, thanks for asking. I don't arrange sales of services through blackhatworld (or if I did, I'd submit a sales thread through BHW). If you have general questions, you can ask them here and I'll answer for free.

Not only for the body, this includes all links on the page (even menus) and H1 tags. If it is text on the page, it counts towards those density levels.

And these recommended figures should be used in conjunction with our keyword being in the title, H1 and URL right? That's how I got it.

Yes, these low percentages are assuming that the template is wordpress, and they're sticking you with a template that takes the title, and makes it into an H1 tag, and auto-recommends a slug with the keywords in it. If you have full control over the template and there isn't an H1 tag being forced upon you, you could choose an LSI H1 tag and then you're freed up to bump the keyword in your body upwards of 1.5% to 1.7% perhaps (because regular keyword use in body is far less optimizing than an H1 tag).

Regarding a "best-widgets" slug, that's incredibly optimizing, a longer slug, or one with LSI terms might be preferred. The problem is you can't change your slug at a later date (otherwise you're braking incoming links, leaving a 401 or a redirect behind, etc.) so make your slug right from the beginning.

Otherwise it looks just fine.

Thanks a lot phpbuilt, my rank keeps wavering. I'm sure this will help me stick at one spot for once :D
