AMP Effect on a Website

I have questions regarding the AMP usage on a WP site. I would like to get your insight from your experience and expertise

1. Does AMP plugins reduce the overall Monetization revenue compare to normal URL ( I am having Adsense)

2. Are there benefits of having AMP URLs instead of normal once for SEO?

I am a bit worried about the Adsense account since there are a lot of accounts that got restricted due to invalid clicks. I already have a plugin for Invalid clicks installed for general URL but it does not work for AMP.

Should I completely remove my AMP URLs and Redirect them to the normal URL ? what can I do here?

1. No. If you're using Adsense you'll likely see an increase as articles will be promoted more often.
2. The benefit is higher rankings on mobile results.

AMP provides higher rankings in Mobile Google Results as well as Google News.
If your site deals with news, it's necessary at this point. Facebook Instant Articles doesn't provide the same traffic bump.

i can show you case after case that normal urls rank higher than amp urls

another fucked up idea by google,,,... which based on them not talking about it anymore, they have given up on the concept

I have Adsense and amazon affiliate links on my site. I tried amp but the pages were ugly and did not convert. I removed amp and had a drop for a few weeks as Google readjusted but the amp is all gone and I am back where I was with page views and making money with normal pages and affiliate links and ads. I don't regret getting rid of it.

However a lot of high volume news sites depend on it so the best thing to do is assess how much mobile traffic you have or want and what you want to do on your amp page. Amp can restrict a lot of functionality you may need and there can also be a lag between you updating an existing page and the Google cached version getting updated to reflect the change.

Experience from my 3 yr old tech blog.

1. AMP increased my adsense earnings but decreased the earning from other non-amp supported network. Adsense is my main income source so it doesnt really matter if I earn less with other network.
2. Increased my mobile traffic. Desktop traffic seems to be normal.
3. More traffic from google news.

Tip: If your website is integrated on Cloudflare, enable the real amp url option as this will show the exact url of your website in the browser.
