I have published ~50 posts on my blog so far and I get 5-10 UV per day from SE. Is that good or bad? I hardly did any backlink building so far Domain is 3 months old but in first 1 month I didn't publish almost anything.

I have made like 2-3 sales, resulting in almost $4.00 in total.

USA traffic / conversion rate and earnings per sale (average) are what you should be looking at.

your traffic is too low and you don't have enough sales at this point .. also seems you have alot of content for the results your getting

seems something is wrong to me.... whether that's the site/organization .. the niche .. the product .. the competition .. keywords or how your articles
are written -- I can't tell.

Well I don't target particular niche, I post reviews on different products, whether it be appliance, electronics, machines etc. I usually add my posts on reddit or on forums and a couple of times members told me that posts are great and very useful. So I think my content is good. Maybe it's link building because I just started to build links lately. But I'm planning to make a website and target one particular niche and see how it goes.

yup .. I can't help you then - because I have no idea what stats you would get from a general purpose site.

I generally start at the easiest rankings and work my way up -- not start at the top and work my way down.

search in google "auto poster wordpress plugin"

there are alot of them - look at warrior forum - I use Wp Robot but that is the most expensive one .. there are other options ... or just do it manually if you don't want to pay for them - just add 5 products and some accessories... and go from there.

Ok after looking through my daily PM's I am astounded to the fact that people continue to build for the most part crap sites that will never sell.

So I am going to provide an example - I don't have this site and I'm not in this niche - but lets talk about something that we all know about.

Site Topic : Wireless Routers
Theme - look through the thread for my suggestions
Slider Articles : Top Wireless Routers for 2013 / Wireless Routers For Use With PC's / Best Wireless routers for use with Mac's / Can A Wireless Extender Solve My Problem / Best Wireless Router for Gaming.

Once you got articles insert text links with your affiliate link - at the end of the article put a button - find out more -- that leads them with your affiliate link to the amazon product page
Then in the review part of your site - review some of the wireless routers from your article.

Make a video about how to set up wireless routers even.
Next add some accessories such as cables / extenders - things that people wouldn't even know though need but they will click a button when they see - yup that may help me with my problem.

Once you start getting some traffic add articles - like How to Solve Wireless Router SetUp Problems - How To Set Up The Proper Security on My Wireless Network.
Add quality content -- use images for the articles from IStockPhoto or some other site like that --- and mix up your Amazon Affiliate Stuff throughout the site.

Get yourself a proper Logo - and add your social network buttons.
Make A Site Your Proud Of - and it will sell -- Make some piece of crap - and you will not get anywhere.

Once everything is organized then start your Seo Slowly -- these are long term money earners -- not churn and burn.

I've noticed few type of amazon affiliate sites, ones that look exactly like ecommerce store with lots of images, and another that looks like a magazine site with content leading to products.

You recommend using premium themes with sliders, but I've been seeing store like amazon sites being used as well. Which one is better?

the sites Im suggesting will rank in Google and bring you long term search engine traffic = monthly income

e-commerce sites unless you add a bunch of content and alter the scraped descriptions will basically be only good for Social Media Traffic.

So it depends on how you plan to get your traffic -- I'm an Seo Person who is in this for the long haul so I go with option 1.

The Magento Stores I have - basically earn next to nothing - even with content -- Wordpress seems to be easier to rank with.

Anyway it's up to you .. try both if you like.

I think you guys would agree - these are standard Amazon review type sites you buy from Warrior Forum or sellers sell on BHW

If you follow my thoughts : and make sites that are higher quality than these that are already ranking on Page 1 -- then money is sure to follow
but if you build sites that are not even up to this standard then your just more than likely wasting your time.

Study your competition -- it helps .... best of luck.

One thing that sucks about Amazon is that products will change and may not be available long-term so when you write a review about a specific product you need to go back and fix that page.

Hey OP, really great thread, really inspiring!
After reading this, I really want to start my own Amazon website.
I have found a keyword that I really like. However, the websites on page #1 of G. for this keyword are all pretty big authority "sites", such as Amazon itself, or Walmart.

Do you think it is worth trying? And if yes, how do you think I should do to rank it, knowing I don't have that much knowledge in SEO and not much money to spend?

Do you think that by only providing quality content, I could be able to make any sales?

I've talked about that 3-4 times already - I would find a lower tier keyword and start with that first then make my way upwards

but as a general comment just because amazon is ahead of me that doesn't mean much - you can beat them no problem if you
put some effort into it.

Alot of people have started to take my advice and use better themes --- but you have to customize them and make them user friendly
so that people look around your site and click things.

Don't just stick big buy buttons right in front of their noses and expect to make money --- there is an art to this - everything is not as simple
as copy/paste.

Doesn't WPRobot leave a footprint?
