I was asked about using other networks for example CJ

-- done it before and made about $600 total -- but nowadays this project is quite advanced and my "secret sauce" targets Amazon Buyers
so rather than go through CJ the network and the Advertiser - prefer just to deal with Amazon.

But by all means if you think you got a master plan to dominate using CJ advertisers and their rates are higher - then fire away.

Just repeating : I'm not interested in JV's or selling Amazon Services - so please just read all the Amazon threads on BHW - make notes - plan your strategy and execute.

I don't need the hassle of being accountable to other people -- once you figure it out and you start making money - then you will know what I mean.
 
Hi Danny, first of, congrats and thanks for sharing. I'm about to take a deep dive into zon in 2013. I've had it for many years now but monetized with Ad$3nse 99% of all my sites but planning on moving them all over to zon in 2013. One question - what plugin do you use for the seo/tag plugin you have been mentioning? Thanks!
 
there's a bunch of plugins that do slightly different things

seo smart links // search term tagging // strictly autotags // automated keyword generator ... you would have to check and adjust the settings and use the best ones with your content and how you post items etc.
 
Thanks for the prompt reply. I've tried some of those in the past but was advised to not use them after the G updates as they then to over SEO and can be in the dog house as a result. I'll past on these for now.

I think the answer to this - is to build a real quality site - and not a spam site - then tone down the plugins so they don't dominate your site -- then choose them that match in with what your site is trying to do.

Basically every person has to take responsibility for their actions - trying to make $30,000 by just relying on one plug in or some piece of crap will never work.

That's a really good piece of advice. I've seen to many sites "plugined" to death. Usability and good user experience is connected with simplicity.

As far as structure goes - depends on your content - I don't use Videos I probably
should - but I wanted simple so when I found something that worked I could scale.

I am going to do this work too. I have domain ,hosting, theme and an idea. I learnt many in this post,just one question, If I copy the product content from amazon, will it violate the TOS?
 
I while ago I was thinking on doing some amazon affiliate website... But for some reason never did.

After reading this plus the whole wirecutter article on the times that says that they are making over 30k per month I'm starting to plan a whole new strategy for an amazon related site.

I'm thinking more on working on an authority site instead of something made with an auto blog... But that is just my thinking. Lets see if I can make it work.

What strategies have you taken to Promote these sites?
How many sites do you think can give around $600-800 per month?

to make $600-$800 a month if you have 5-10 quality sites then its doable -- keeping in mind sites sell more or less at different times of the year - so you need to factor that in.

if your sites are slightly lower quality then with 20 sites $600 a month should be a breeze.

I'd suggest most people have 10 15 or 20 -- that way you can diversify niches and get a nice check every month ... 1 - 2 or 3 Sites will be too up and down - and 1 google update could take away all your earnings.

Hey Danny, thanks for the thread and inspiration, New Year right? Well gonna give a network of Amazon sites a go and see how it does for me. Bought a domain last week and getting some articles ready for it now.

If I have any luck I will be sure to chime in.
 
My head is spinning on deciding what niche to get into. I want to pick a product I'm interested in but then find that there's a lot of competition.

I'm also thinking when starting out it might be a good idea to focus on products for the less tech savvy demographic.
