Amazon Success - $300 Day Yesterday

I received some PMs recently asking me to do things for people or provide support.
Just want to say - I am not selling anything nor providing any services - as I have my own way
of doing things - and I don't want to be responsible for other people's work.
Everything in this thread is how I do it - what I use --- and there are definately other ways to do the same
thing - so feel free to modify/improve or do it differently

Like most people I guess I started off with Hostgator shared plan and moved into the world of VPS's as my traffic grew / my number of websites and plugin use grew.
Just recently I made the switch to a dedicated server and the difference from where I had been before to how my sites load now is night and day.... my sites and images just fly and could not be more pleased as gives my visitors a better experience.
I have also made the mistake of using hosts that go down - have crappy slow support and other issues that come up being a site owner - and ultimately if you have ever had this happen to you -- then you know how much money it can cost to have your sites offline for a week or two.
Really would recommend going over to the forum "webhosting talk" and reading reviews and latest offers - so you get the best server/hosting for your money.
Some places I would recommend : LVPS Hosting / Wired Tree / Server Beach (UnManaged Though)
Places I was dissapointed : KnownHost and Future Hosting (VPS's at both)

Also I should mention that if you ever have troubles with your Hosting and you need the problem solved pretty quick you can search
"server buddies" and tell them what you need and they will fix it for you.
I had to resort to using them a couple of times when I had UnManaged hosting.

I remember reading through thread a week and some days back, you mentioned that you only use EMD with no dashes and only some cases you add review to the EMD.
Since then I have been gearing up to start my journey, but recent EMD losing rankings in serps giving me second thoughts.
Just wondering how your sites are doing, and if any of your EMD have lost their rankings.
The keyword I'm planning on targeting has 5.5k Exact US searches.
It also has some variations that get 1k - 2k each.
Competition is very low, Amazon and Walmart have the first 2 spots with pr1 and n/a ( Low backlinks too)
There are 3 more n/a, the remainder is 1 pr3 an 2 pr0 and 2 pr1.
Anyways, Just wanna ask if you would go for this if you were in a similar situation.

Very nice achievement there. I myself struggle to maintain around $300-500 a day using a combination of 4 networks, I never found success with amazon. Perhaps the upcoming Holiday season might make me give it another go....

I thought I answered the effects I'm seeing
my traffic variation is -45% to +35 % per site -- basically in some cases I'm seeing traffic gains because while the sites themselves maybe down in rankings - I'm dominating some keywords with secondary properties for the first 5 pages.
I just went through the first 5 sites now to see what they are seeing yesterday and it is still inline with the above --> -24.7% to +2% traffic wise.
Also when I scanned some keywords/niches -- some niches were unaffected by all this - while others the first 20 pages were cleared out of affiliate sites -- so it just depends which space your in. I would be looking at some social traffic right now to fill in the Google stuff till they sort it all out... if I just had a few sites probably like most people new to this.

So a new site Ive poured my heart into and was ranking on Page 1 and 2 for main keywords was starting to make me about $30 a day.
Then I got hit by Penguin on 5th October but what I dont understand is that I used only the best backlinking packages and was very careful and used lots of generic anchor backlinks. My main 2 kws had 10% and 9% backlink exact anchors.
It is an EMD and that keyword fell from #2 to #10 which isnt too bad but I dont understand why ALL my inner pages have disappeared from the SERPs. Seriously thinking of giving up on amazon and organic traffic (even though I LOVE this method of IM) as Google has hit 3 of my big sites over past few months. Had these three sites still been performing well I would easily be on about $60 a day.

obviously you built links to fast and having someone Seo your sites for you within first 3 months is just too much - as you just don't know what they were doing... plus the EMD update.
the only thing to do is use Social Sites for now and wait for this Google Update to blow over and start again .. just add some content in the meantime....... there is no other way at the moment since we can't make Google undo what they did in the short term - we can only give them what they are looking for.

The cookie stuff is overrated imo ... if you build the right kind of site and content - your going to make Sales and make money.
It's like saying I wish Clickbank products were actually good -- that's why they pay the commissions they do.
Anyway it is what it is at the moment - you have to be careful what you do - and you have to research the niche more .. to make sure there is a spot for you in the rankings .. as some are really tough right now.

This strategy and how I do it are a "Long Term Business Strategy" -- I am not out to really SPAM my Site links out there - what I am doing is to build links and properties at a more normal pace than your typical BHW strategy.... so please keep that in mind.
Lastly due to the success of this project I did add more resources and a Social Marketing strategy as well - which was good timing with the up and down of Google at the moment...... I hope people recognize the nature of this and take my advice for what it is worth..... FREE !

It's not wrong - but I nofollow my links and provide quality content and images -- so that when someone searches a buying term they find the answer on my site and make a purchase .... so in search engine terms that's what your supposed to do provide value to the user.
right now I would research my niche and see what sites are ranking because some categories there are no affiliate sites ranking - and in other terms they are - so probably go with something that's working now -- and later go back into the others.

my sites are not really autoblogs - scraped / spun content anymore -- I pulled everything apart and added quality unique content / images
the only thing that works on auto is the posting of products or accessories in the background or to create the site in the first place - so tell it to post whatever it finds under keyword on Day 1.
