If you mean the link for downloading the mage script that populates magento with Amazon products then it works fine.

those using the free script from xenix9 knows if it will still work when Amazon updates its API on 8/31? No point setting up everything and its not pulling from Amazon after 31st Aug.

I have an idea regarding Amazon - Magento store and that is to apply for various Amazon UK, Amazon Spain, Amazon Germany etc.... affiliate accounts. Then buy up the country specific TLDs and create identical Magento stores and use GEO targetting to divert country specific traffic to these sub country stores from the main store so you won't lose much from these traffic not from the US. It sounds like a bit of work and domain investments so I wonder if theres anyone doing this?

For what I can see if you have an Associates Account API then nothing should change.
If however you have a sellers account then that changes come August the 31st and you no longer have access to the associates feed.
If anyone receives a blacklist error when using the Api then you have a sellers account. You should contact Amazon and migrate to the Products Advertising API.
This is what I have read about the upcoming changes.

I saw in my account, there is a Product Advertising API tab so does that mean mine is good? Do I have to sign up for it since I haven't done so?

Unless you specifically signed up for Sellers account to sell on Amazon then it would be my guess that you have most likely signed up for an Associates account.
Like I mentioned above, if you do get the blacklist error returned from using the API then contact them to migrate your account. I would build your planned Amazon stores without concern imo.

I'd accidentally started affiliating with amazon 10 days back and it has turned out to give me a $80 though i am complete newbie to affiliate marketing. This was without a website by just commenting in blogs, i am so new to this field that i am also afraid that i still do not know if it is allowed according to amazon t&c. I'd like you guys to help me out with that.
Secondly, for all those amazon marketers who have had significant profits and are looking to boost their revenues, why not we form a small team discuss our strategies until we all could build a sustainable second income ?

I am busy building sites the next two days - so don't have time to answer questions till next week.

* Need a Theme ? BHW Download Section - Find A Good One There
* API - that is not the affiliate side of their business that's changing
* Team - forget it - people will steal your ideas / sites and anything else they can and sell it on WF - Protect your money sites.
* any country can work - but you have to make quite a bit of effort to start making decent money.
If you choose the Seo Way it's going to take 2-3 months to get sales - if you choose Social Networks your conversion will be alot lower but at least you will make something.

Ubot or Zennoposter. You might say what would be a good thing to make with these products ? the answer is Web 2.0 Posters.
Pick say 15 Web 2.0 Sites and make account creation / posters -- so you can manage them easily.... change them as the sites change.
Alternatively look at Imacros or Roboform - for completing forms quickly.

I am not a person that has a desire to pry ... I am sure more than one of us would appreciate knowing specifics of hazards that you have experienced and what you have done to protect yourself. I am not talking about G type issues, but those that are less talked about but just as troublesome. The quote referencing is my reason to query: and I know I am too trusting type of person so input is respectfully requested. Obviously there is no need to name 'names' in a public style forum, if you are willing to respond.
I am concentrating on WP sites for now ... not EMD == because looking at the top 10 results for a product line shows me fewer EMD than 'authority site' style in SERPs .. obviously YMMV

I am just new to the thread, and I feel your pain: I look at Amazon affiliation like a MF relationship that can go wrong suddenly and it is very difficult to rebuild if you do not know what went wrong.
It has been a few weeks since you wrote about trying to get your site back up in the SERPs ... can you share what worked and what didn't from you own point of view please?

I don't think it helps the thread - which is about making money not scammers....
but briefly - I bought an Amazon Script from a provider. The provider set up the initial sites for me - we inserted my affiliate codes into the sites - and in the control panel my affiliate code was there - but when someone checked out - the providers code was inserted to replace mine so he got the sales. I contacted him saying there was something wrong - but for months he kept saying no everything is right -- after 3 months others started saying the same thing - and then he says well I put a security feature in the product that if you don't register the site with me - I take the commissions. So I complain obviously since I had a tonne of sales and put quite abit of money into it - and he says first there were no sales - then there were too many sales - then he will give me a list - then I have to provide him with a list of all the sales. He then says he will pay me -- then I hear nothing from him - so he gets his worker to answer my email and I tell the guy what I think - ie was getting pretty mad at this point --- then couple weeks later he says because you got mad I'm not paying you .. blocks all emails / disables me from the forum - you name it.... next you see him here leaking his script - and anyone who would have used it - would be in the same position as me - except I was a paid registered user. Basically the guy is a scumbag ....... I think that covers the situation .... I hope we can move on and not dwell on it further in this thread.

Those scammers are assholes....
Can u give us more info about the script? name of the provider etc.. so we can make sure to avoid it..
Just to add .. Wikipedia posting is that 40% of Amazon sales originate from affiliates .. win win
