Danny do you have experience about using upcoming products with Amazon sites? I read elsewhere that it's (obviously) a gold mine to find an interesting upcoming product, make amazon affiliate site about it (and be the first one) and start pre-selling etc. But have you tried this? If so, how did you find the upcoming products?
1. I am totally dismantling all autoblogs - as I don't think there is a future in weak content and not unique sites

I get many of my Seo Clients wanting me to sell their products - but most of them are in direct competition with major brands - and with Amazon you get a commission on items your not even trying to sell - so at the end of the month it is more profitable to focus on Amazon from my perspective.

Another thing I notice from looking at people's sites :
They seem to lack confidence in knowing what to do / what strategy to pursue.
1. Make A Site That Google Will Like - Unique Helpful Content and Reviews - Organize the site with sliders / categories and answer questions people would have before they buy the product - or why the product is better than competing products.
2. Make sure you have Seo Plug Ins Installed and configured properly - ie you have to enter a description and keywords - then look at smart tagging and seo smart links
3. Have a simple Seo Strategy for the first 2 months - then start getting more aggressive after that.
Personally I feel like I can make any site "Sell" but for my time and effort before I start I am picking good quality products - in niches that are going to sell more easily and ones where I can rank the site to get decent longtail keyword traffic and later on for more competitive terms over time.
Lastly there are no shortcuts - find a good template / learn it / customize it -- get your content organized - present it well and then start on the Seo.
(if you get sales - look at scaling your formula - if it doesn't make changes--- and remember not every site is going to work -- that's just the way it is)

Hey Danny. Great thread updates as per usual.
One quick question. Ive been building an amazon site over past few months and have written a good few articles. Its now ranking nicely for a number of keywords with minimal link building - page 2 for most kws so far.
Thing is, I havent added in my amazon products into the Catalogue section of my site yet.
I usually do this by hand (one by one with a brief description, image and then link them up with my amazon aff links).
The problem is this takes ages to do.
Would an automatic amazon product feed plugin in like Azon Builder kill my ranking if I install it on my Catalogue page? If it would, could I just edit my robots.txt fil to block google from crawling the page (due to dup content ON THAT PAGE ONLY)?
Please let me know how you handle a large list of products on your sites! Thanks.

2. How many reviews and articles totally your sites have? (on average)
3. How many words per reviews/article?
4. Are you cloaking your affiliate links? If yes, how you do it?
5. Whats the anchor text of your backlinks. How many naked urls (http://www.domainname.com/) you build compared to keyword anchors
I was doing pretty well with my Amazon sites. Had $150+ on average per day. But then penguin came. And most of sites dropped. Now i make only about 1,5 to 2k per month.

well that's how I do it - change the plugin folder name - use robots.txt and on Day 1 I might post 10-20 products but then only post 1 every week after that ....... when I first started I posted more regularly but I don't like that now --- less is better .. more content -- as that's what I have found brings more Sales - not so much adding extra accessory products.
Penguin hasn't hurt me - my sites rank better now (WP) --- Magento well Jury is still out on them and I just started.

what if I buy a common domain name like "honestreviews.com" and post reviews about various products..
is it hard to rank these kind of domains,,?
what are the best kind of domains to buy if EMD's are not available.. please give some ideas..]

No experience in building a site like that - so cannot comment.
There is no way every EMD is taken for what your trying to do - it's impossible.
people are not that smart to figure it out and then take every combination possible.
Go look at the sites ranked in the Top 10 and check out their domains and find a combination
that works.

Well Seo is ok for a long term stable income if you work at it -- but I do think there is a place for Social Traffic - because you can earn money faster and deploy that money into more sites / more content and more Seo Software so you can have a nice growing business.
I would like to do more myself with Social Bots and accounts - but I don't have the time to sit and figure those out .... So I do Seo.
Bottom Line Is Again Figure Out What You Know and How Best To Use That Knowledge To Make Money/Sales.

If your using a Standard Blog Template ie Blogger / free WP / or base WP Blog Install - please don't bother to PM me your site - in my opinion your just wasting your time.
Please goto BHW Download Section -- Templates and Themes and get a proper Template that has Sliders and Categories. Learn the Template / Customize it and organize your content /// buying links (pictures or text) - articles - reviews - galleries - videos
Otherwise your conversion rates are going to be horrible and your just wasting your time.
