Amazon Success - $300 Day Yesterday

For $300 per day is an awesome achievement, congratulations. However, I would like to ask you a question; Between creating a seller account for dropshipping or generally selling physical stuff and creating sites containing amazon links which one in your opinion would be more profitable in the long run? Put in mind scaling multiple amazon link sites....

That looks almost like an authority site with good content, so having many outbound links would look natural for that type of site.

Please keep on-topic. No-ones even mentioned drop-shipping; that's a different forum.

You clearly haven't even bothered to read the last page where the OP mentioned this. :rolleyes:

that's a good point on outbound links -- obviously we all try to optimize our sites as much as possible so they rank higher faster -- but at end of the day if your building an authority site then in the long run at some point you have to open it up some to make it more natural.

that site also has alot of comments etc - some are obviously fake just from reading them ... anyway at this point I don't have any sites like that ... I am still working on my Magento Sites at the moment.

You really seem to be ramping it up with number of sites you have going Danny, now i'm not the most organised person in the world. Do you have a daily routine you follow when you have this many sites on the go.

Just an update on my review site that was de-indexed, have spent the last couple of weeks re-writing all the reviews and added how to articles as well. Just submitted reconsideration request, if this fails will create a new site.
 
well its a bit different at the moment - as I'm spending time on the Magento Sites

but basically I just picked the best sites and sites with high value items - and worked more with those - because the payoff was higher.
keep track of everything on a SpreadSheet .. not much else to it -- just use the Seo Tools I have or outsource some stuff from time to time.
 
this is a good thread.def money can be made from amzn but need some works

UPDATE : well working with Jarehan I now have 13 Magento Stores - 3 are a little older but really have done nothing with them.

So today we are just finishing off the little things and just doing a little bookmarking and a few press releases.

Also looking to get a more efficient server - clean up some WP sites and probably get a few more Magento Stores over the coming month.

Trying to get everything ready for November /December / January the 3 best selling months.
 
Also this is not the only recent Amazon thread on BHW - there are quite a few services and threads - so would encourage everyone to read them all -- as more info is better than less - and what I am doing is just one way to do it - so better read them all and find out what works best with what you know how to do - and what tools you have to work with.

For example if you suck at Seo then this thread probably won't work out for you - you maybe better with a Facebook Page and selling through that where Seo is irrelevant.
 
I have a new site ranking pretty well on quality keywords, starting to get a few 30+$ a days from 1 site, this is however the first time I actually read here so maybe I can learn more and improve my sites. well 8 pages, I need to find some free time:)
 
Do you think its best to register an EMD, develop it and rank it and just leave it, or to build some kind of authority website in a certain niche and try and rank it for multiple terms?
 
Personally I prefer smaller niches - easier to do better in - - but if your willing to work at it
then the authority site idea would work too.
 
Yey, made my first sale couple of days ago! I opened the site three weeks ago. It was a 450 dollar item and two accessories sold. That gives me about $19 commission. The funny thing: the site in question is not in the first two pages of Google for main keyword. Thus I suspect the buyer came straight to article page using product+review search term in Google. So looks like not only the main keyword is important but review pages with product+review in titles, meta tags, h1 etc.

Thanks again Danny for giving inspiration and making me to take action instead of lurking around the forums :P
 
I read the other Amazon thread that just got started ... a really important point is this.

When a Product is "Hot" or "In-Demand" such as Ipad's - Kindles etc -- if you look there are tonnes of sites trying to get traffic and sales - but you will still make money if you do it right - because the search volume is so high - and people want to buy.

so yeah it's hard but you will make money .... you compare that to optimizing for a Green 10 inch Corkscrew as an example -- sure you can rank number 1 but is it really worth it in terms of sales ? probably not.

(Using extreme examples obviously)
 
Traffic on 2 of my WP Sites is way up today : on one site someone pinned my site at Pinterest and the other someone used my product as a reference in an EBay Auction -- so people are coming to my site to check it out.

Really the main thing is Sales so will be interesting to see - if the extra traffic leads to any more Sales.
 
Wow that is good! Will be waiting to see your Report tomorrow.Btw, i have started a new blog on a health Niche, i don't know if this will do well with amazon. Lets see what i will get after a month or two.
 
How are your magento sites coming along? Any sales from them yet?
 
Magento wise - 5 sites are 1 day old 5 sites are 2 days old and the other 3 are like 4-5 weeks old - those have made sales
but the latest 10 are just getting started and I would give them a week or 2

I will update the thread once I see something consistent or note worthy.
 
I'm struggling with converting people on my main site. It's a blog about a subject and actually has decent, helpful content, I have just added amazon affiliate links to try and generate some profit.

Last month I had 282 clicks, with 3 conversions. A conversion rate of 1.06%.

The items I am advertising range from $10 - $2,000. I have some cheap items and some expensive appliances.

This month so far I have had 133 clicks and 1 conversion (but only for a $25 item).

Any tips?
 
The Top Reasons I've seen For Low Conversion Rates from People Who Have PM'd me their Sites to Look At

* using blogger or standard WP Site - with no sliders / graphics or effort to make the site look like it's the expert at the topic
* WP sites with Seo Plug Ins That are not activated or Information Missing -- ie no description or no keywords filled in
* reviewing products that have limited long term sales or short term sales for that matter
* not using buying keywords ie targeting piano keyboard instead of best piano keyboard for less than $500

the traffic has to be shaped towards buyers - or people looking to buy and you have to sell them.

if I am going to buy something for $1000-$2000 I am not trusting a BlogSpot blog with one cut and paste picture and a bunch of banners all over the site - so it looks like a billboard -- I want to know that the product is worth the money and it's not going to break down after 2-3 months.
