hey Guys,

One of my Client who is an Amazon Seller just Updated me About Amazon's new Update Regarding Fake Reviews Done with Promo's.

i just saw the following about Amazon new rules, be sure to let your guys know

Amazon is implementing a new way of doing things. If you are down voting a review, and in a 30 day time period you are found to have down voted 5 or more reviews (or once you get to 5 no matter what point of the month it is) Your account will be put under scrutiny...

if you are also a reviewer who frequently does reviews for free/discounted products and you downvote other reviews, your account will be subject to immediate suspension.

Now, they will be looking at other aspects just not throwing you under the bus.. but say you have been looking for a certain printer, and you read the reviews and then you down-vote reviews ... yet you do not even look at any other printers or do not buy a printer, they will be looking at your account to find out why.

They also have a way to track if you are going to other people profiles and just down-voting their reviews. So basically, if anyone is purposely down voting another person, you are now subject to lose your account WITHOUT notice and it can be a permanent suspension on ALL IP addresses associated with you!

If Anyone here had heard about this updated by amazon , please let me know ;)

Thanks

They had to catch up sooner or later. Guess we will have to figure out a new way to get this done.

The idiots wouldn't have this problem if they implemented reviews only for people who bought the product.

Not too late to add this to the topic, I guess :)

These NEWS are just 3~4 days old, and it seems that Amzn has woken up to perform its duty towards its potential clients and longterm clients, at least AND at last, and literally too! Doesn't that look a bit suspicious? May be (imo) there are some lawyers who are wanting to take it to legal courts because it knew all awhile, but did nothing... so it is displaying its concerns now ;). I don't believe that they didn't knew the facts all along...

Did it turn a blind eye all along because those fake reviews were actually helping them grow? Only they can tell......... if it is demanded by the court, surely.

P.S.:
If the company is suing those fake review sites, then IMO why did it ever sided with one of those fake reviewers as it did in this article, AND made the person who complained against the fake reviewer lose his WH livelihood? That was less than one year ago, and now the about-turn as above!!!
