I have a VPS in amazon.

Could i use that to create some private proxies (by installing squid) to log into Facebook or Instagram or will i get an instant ban/flag?

you wont magically get additional ips by installing squid. 1 ip = ~ 1USD/month

As long as you buy more IPs, then it shouldn't be any different than buying private proxies elsewhere... unless Amazon doesn't allow any of their IPs to scrape their site, hm

If you're using amazon's IP then you will get banned for sure.

Their IP's have already been abused to death. I would definitely try using a different host for your proxies.
