Amazon Merch: $235.60 made in first 14 days - Good/Bad?

So in my first 14 days on Amazon Merch I've made $235.60. For people who use Merch, is this a good amount? Do earnings usually increase a lot the more designs you're allowed to sell and the longer a shirt has been selling?

Also, how long does it take you to move up a tier once you have sold the required shirts? It's been 5 days since I've sold 25 shirts but I'm still only allowed to sell 10 designs.

That's an amazing amount to make so quickly.

It can take a couple of weeks once you hit the requirements to move to the next tier. Once you can upload more designs, you just follow the same principals that brought you the early success and your earnings should jump.

Certain times of the year are huge - Black Friday, Halloween and Christmas. Q4 is always big.

Are you designing yourself or outsourcing?
 
Awesome result in such a short time buddy. I am still waiting to get approved for my Merch Account.
How long did you had to wait to get approve because I am waiting about 6 weeks now.

Cheers man. I look for shirts with a Best Sellers Rank of around 100,000 then get a designer from Upwork to put their own unique spin on it for $5 per design. Good idea about the holidays, I'll definitely start adding more of those types.

I think I applied late last year but totally forgot about it until I received an email saying I had been accepted.

Social media mostly. I'm now usingAdWords to see if sales get a boost from it; the price per click is only around 5p-15p.
 
I got accepted at the same time. it took about 2 months so I imagine there doing invites in batches. i made 2 sales on one shirt the first week, while i removed the 9 designs that didnt work. I replaced them with new designs and so far i have 3 now that are somewhat winners. Ive made 8 sales but one canceled :(. Right now I'm making a steady sale a day, but im also not charging over 19, so the profits are small right now but my current goal is to keep swapping designs while I wait to tier up. Im making the designs myself in photoshop. Iv made about $118 in purchases and like $32.48 in royalties. Id say your doin good bro lol!

One big tip for submitting new and editing new designs. Do it during work hours cause it seems they take weekends off.

When I created my account, I didn't have to specify which country I'm from, but I guess it's automatically set to USA?

I just created a new one as well and applied on that one.
 
I've now sold 191 shirts, with $645.42 royalties, in the first 28 days and can sell up to 500 designs so things are looking good. I hope they start introducing other merch products!

I know they're looking for people to work at Merch by Amazon Europe (https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/547257) so hopefully, they'll make it international soon too.

How do you decide which designs to sell beforehand?

Do you add keywords to the title and features? Try reducing your prices to see if they sell more; when you are in a low tier you should worry more about quantity of sales (to level up) rather than the royalties-per-shirt. Maybe try using ads directed to your shirts just to level up tiers so you can sell more.

Why do you keep swapping designs? That will only hurt your SEO and chances of being a lower BSR rank. Research and pick a design then stick with it.

If you want to share the link to one of your T-shirts, which isn't selling well, I could take a look to see if anything can be improved.

It took me over 6 months if I remember so it will come soon :) Then you can start making easy money. Try and get some designs ready beforehand so you can post them straight away once you're accepted.
 
For a member with over 2 years in the comunity and over 500 posts this feels more like a brag than a legit question.

I read that people are making thousands a month on Merch which is why I asked, to see if it's a good start on the way to that. Not a brag
 
Haven't had a sale yet ( started a month ago ) I tried to find a non populated niche but doesn't seem to be the right strategy. Any tips on selecting KW / Niche would be great!

Try this and see how it works out:

1) Find shirts that have a BSR of 100k - 300k
2) Bookmark them and look back several days later; if they're still in that BSR range, use them
3) Get a designer to make a similar design to That T-shirt and upload it to Merch
4) Fill the title and bullet points with related keywords
5) Sell, rinse and repeat
 
That's pretty good, grats OP! Just got accepted into merch myself after waiting like a year and half. Excited to see what the hype is all about.

How do you get around trade marks, how do you know if something is trade marked?
In upflow, what skills do you pick for your freelancer to have, ie:
print layout, grafic design?
