For all you that haven't been reading my latest post (almost all of you), I have been experimenting with being an Amazon affiliate as I have a niche website that get's a reasonable amount of traffic. Problem is, I have been getting a ton of clicks to Amazon, but very few sales. As far as I can tell, it turns out that only people from my country (UK) can make a sale via my affiliate account that I will get paid for, so the obvious question is: is there a way around this? The UK makes up only about 10% of my traffic.

Thanks for your time,

James :)

You can sign up for affiliate accounts with each Amazon site/territory then use a WP plugin to manage the links

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/
https://associates.amazon.ca/
https://partenaires.amazon.fr/
https://partnernet.amazon.de/
https://affiliate-program.amazon.in/
https://associados.amazon.com.br/
https://programma-affiliazione.amazon.it/
https://affiliate.amazon.co.jp/
https://afiliados.amazon.es/
https://affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk/
https://associates.amazon.cn/

There are some decent paid plugins but here are a couple of free ones to test out and get started with:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/amazon-link-engine/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/amazon-affiliate-link-globalizer/

EDIT: Watch out with the FREE plugins as they sometimes take a percentage of your sales by swapping their link for yours every few sales.

I think if you sign up for .co.uk affiliate program, you automatically are signed for all the EU affiliate programs. Not 100% sure though.

Cheers :) Can you recommend a good paid plugin?

Just a thought: You would of thought that Amazon would of had this in the bag. Many smaller companies affiliate links work globally.

Yeh Amazon is a pain with their program, if you want to earn from international visitors then you have to join each country seperately and get different id's for each one. Your translate button will be working overtime as obviously the german amazon site is in er - well german and so on. If you are outside of India you cannot join that one. I was refused Japan but allowed China. Very hard to keep track of as they don't show up in your central panel. You'd think a company the size of Amazon would make it easier. I suppose because everybody on the net is dying to sell amazon products they think what the hell - they will still sign up anyway

Well said. By the way, do you mean your stats page when you say central panel? Also, if you sign up using the same credentials, can you link everything to one stats page, or do you have to look at them one by one?

Yeh stats page/ central panel is the same thing. As far as i know you can't do that, only tracking codes can be found from your main panel. Each country is a different amazon so you need to sign in to each one.

I would prefer to go with Amazon Link Engine. But I am bit confused whether it would be right to use it or not.

When I use this plugin it shows a different (customized) link while hovering the amazon affiliate link on my pages/posts.

There's a amazon policy regarding Affiliate Link Shortening or Link Cloaking / Hiding.
"You will not cloak, hide, spoof, or otherwise obscure the URL of your site containing Special Links (including by use of a redirecting page) such that we cannot reasonably determine the site from which a customer clicks through such Special Link to the Amazon Site"

Doesn't it violate the policy or is it safe to use the plugin? Please recommend.

Thanks

Here is the best suggestion that I'm using. First see from where your traffics comes. Mostly from UK, USA,Canada, Australia and few more countries. So just join with the local amazon of these countries and use EASYAZON and now convert more sales and commission :)

Congrs in advance for your new conversation :D

I have also used easyazon and it is so far the best wordpress plugin for affiliate link localization.

You have to join each amazon locale, if you only belong to the US Amazon then if someone from France lands on your site and makes a purchase you will not get a commission, if you only join Amazon.com then you only get US commissions, that is after you've filled out their poncy tax forms

Good suggestion, i'm doing that also and i use auto azon also. No need to join every amazon locale just in case you get one visitor from china. Bit annoying westerners are not allowed to join amazon india

I don't try with this India. May I ask when they don't as well Indian have also Amazon.in local so why ?

I was allowed to join every one except India as i am not a resident of India, The only other one that declined me was Japan but i was accepted into the China one

I only target the Europeans and US, Canada, Australia these countries :)
