I just recently (just this week in fact) jumped on the amazon money train.

My stats (so far) after my first small campaign are 71 sales, with 42 already paid out.

I am currently sitting at 6.5% commission, but already have enough sales pending to put me at 7%

This has happened pretty much within 3-4 day time frame.

Needless to say, I'm pretty happy about all of this - but being happy isn't the reason for my post.

The reason for this post is that I want to connect with other people who are doing amazon marketing.

I am a long term internet marketer, have been fortunate over the years, and this is my first steps into amazon.

I have a nagging feeling that I am still not seeing the whole picture even though I have started off well.

Now, for everyone that's going to ask me how i did it.... I used wp and built a store and then sent traffic to it using mainly youtube (and no, i'm not a youtube guru, i just grasp the basics and seo my vids to take top positions).

The big thing I want to accomplish with this thread is just to meet and speak with other people in the amazon game so that hopefully all of us can "take something away" and make more money.

So, please take a moment to share your tactics, ask your questions (hell a week ago i didnt even understand the stats - it was a fellow bhw user who helped my via pm).

So, lets go basic to advanced and see if we can make this a valuable thread.

Been using Amazon on several blogs for over a year now and made $2:24. Prefer to use Clickbank and CJ .. good luck with your Amazon journey.

i once had a method for amazon where you set up a campaign with adfly or any traffic source and people actually bought until amazon catch up on it and ban it so if you have a method you should probably hit it before they catch up on you

Yeah! Amazon is the best, I have a site that I placed amazon and adsense together, adsense got around $10-15 a day while amazon is rocking at $30-60 a day! btw, and I got sales outside my niche too. Since then all of my project sites don't rely on adsense, but on amazon and adsense for extra income. :)

I am curious to know what do you mean that 42 of your sales have been paid out already? Do you mean that the customers paid for there orders already?

Yes, amazon stats show how many sales total, and how many have been shipped already - they do not credit you with money until an item is shipped.

hmmm ... I havent purchased traffic, but as best i can tell, amazon has no issue with you paying for your traffic. Are you certain you weren't breaking some other rule?

Yes, I achieved my results so far using youtube

Quick question, you're fortunate internet marketer, why your avatar "pity cat" look so pity and poor :D

Back to the main one, your thread is motivate me try back amazon again, fuel me with fresh air and I'm already to hit the road again, just a seriously question? Which WP store theme will you recommend me to use? Is it an authority look alike site or product reviews one?

[1] I think my avatar pic of the "pity dog" is beautiful and unique. So I really don't understand why you would consider it ugly. :D

[2] I cant recall exactly what i used for the theme... I actually just downloaded amazon related products from here on bhw and installed them all and just started testing and tweaking until i had a site that looked ok to me.

[3] Just a product review site.

I have been with amazon for a year plus and my account is still reading $0.00.
Probably am going to try youtube.

That thing is a dog? Congrats on the Amazon successes BTW. Keep at it, they're a well recognized brand and people trust buying through them. The commissions may be low, but the increased sales attributed to their trusted brand name make up for it plenty. If you can force the clickthrus, it's almost like legitimately stuffing cookies sometimes, you'll start seeing all sorts of unrelated purchases when you're pushign a volume of traffic.

This is a good start.. I focus on amazon mp3 downloads as well.. as they increase the sales volume tremendously and help achieve 7-7.5% commission easily.. Couple it with high value products.. you get a good mix for making money.

I agree completely.... i have been using movie/show episodes to boost my sales volume since it only cost the buyer about a dollar, they do move pretty nicely.

I have had some success with Amazon using Facebook Fan Pages... I would target a small niche, and then sell related products on an Iframe tab. For instance, Woodworking niche. Set up a fan page called "I Love Woodworking" or similar. Set up some ads so you get targeted fans. Then set up an iFrame tab with the Amazon products.

This works pretty well, especially when you have a large, ACTIVE page. It has made me a few hundred dollars a month in the past with 3-4 pages.

Sounds pretty solid... i'm going to put that one on my todo list... thanks!
