Hi Argan,
i am again looking for an adivice form the Amazon Affiliate Website Guru ;-)
my own affiliate site has now about 800 ranking keywords, 1000 visits a day and a daily earning of 50 Euro, so i am quit happy but i want more
I publish 10 to 20 articles a week and i hope to increase this numbers.
I am unsure what to do with my older, allready ranking in the range of place 5 to 10 articles.
Most of them have around 500 words, shall i rewrite this articles an try to reach 2000 words or is it better to make close topic articles and link to the allready ranking page ?
for Example Spot 8 for Best XXXX product, 600 Word Article . Shall i make this artcle longer and better and risk to lose a ranking here or shall i write some support articles about the single product and link to the ranking article ?
Thx for yor help and good luck
I don't like the Guru nickname

Gurus always need to sell something, I don't sell anything to you and I'm sharing only to share.
You can rewrite your contents if you don't rank, but I think the best solution is trying to to add more content and focus on different keywords (different seed, main, keywords and long tails).
2000 Words content will rank better because will answer to more Google's searchers...
Don't write supporting articles only to rank faster or better, your supporting contents need to answer to user's questions, in this way will rank high and will boost a lot your main linked contents!
So what is your take on Authority site vs MNS? 10 MNS vs 1 authority site, who will win?
There isn't a 100% right question, is a different way to see the same goal (conversion and lead generation).
I think is simple build 10 MNS because your content plan isn't so big and you can create 1 MNS a week.
To create authority you need a lot of effort and experience. Is really hard and time consuming to spread your link juice with an authority website.
short term there is a chance for the 10 MNS, in long term the Authority will win
Yes and not, I've few MNS created few years ago ranking and banking well
Hope all is going well for your journey. Best of luck to you on this.
Yeah, sure

Will update traffic and few tricks soon!
Hi there,
I realize that this thread has evolved since, but I'd like to ask two clarifying questions relative to what has been discussed a few pages back ago regarding website silos - I hope that's okay.
Background: I only have one website. It is 3 years old and has 450 pages/posts with content. Since its inception, I've been using YARPP (Yet Another Related Post Plugin) and the Wordpress standard "Recent Posts" sidebar widget.
I am in the process of re-organizing my content into logical silos via static internal links, pretty much exactly mirroring the structure splishsplash mentioned a while back ago here. The results have been a real eye-opener, but I wonder if I could do even better.
Question 1: Is there a risk that YARPP and/or the "Recent Post" sidebar widget might dilute my silo-ing efforts?
Question 2: If the answer to #1 is Yes, given the background of my site (age, amount of content) would it make sense to get rid of YARPP and the sidebar widget?
Many thanks for your insights in advance.
Sure, will do! Recent posts is useful for MNS (micro niche sites) because all contents are related and you don't have 100+ related posts!
Until YARPP shows really related contents use it. This depends by your ability to create closely related contents and use right categories.
I am not Argan but I will try to help.
First of all, you can't hurt your rankings by making that article longer. Not at all; by contrary.
Secondly, it really depends on the profile of your website how deep you should go with the support articles. Sometimes is just a matter of aging.
Don't worry mate, I'm here to learn too

I know people will share their experience on my methods and in this way I can learn how to improve my methods!
You answer is amazing, content age is a huge component as ranking factor, for this reason, especially beginners don't want to wait (but they should because it is the only way to stay on the search market).
Little Update
I was in Paris for the past four days and before leaving I applied a little trick to gather research regarded the keywords containing 2016 and other forms.
Will update when I've significant data in my Webmaster Tools!
