I think Amazon associates is the most complicated affiliate program on earth. You don't need to do something bad to get banned.
Google will never ban you unless you have committed some spam actions. Moreover, they could limit ads on your site until the problem is resolved. I could remember when bots where spamming my site and clicking on ads, I got a mail from Google that my ads serving will be limited. I figured the problem and fixed it. Ads serving where restored.
Buy Amazon closes your account and keeps all the money forgetting I spent time and resources to drive does traffic that brought them sales.
Closing an account and keeping all the money isn't the biggest ill, the biggest problem is making sure every new account you create gets closed and all earnings withheld.
I understand that Amazon has become very big but could it be that they do this to offset a significant portion of their financial responsibilities. I never knew anything like Amazon banning accounts, but after my account was banned, I got to find out alot of people loose their account for not saying "good morning" lol! How pathetic can Amazon be.
In my case, I already had a US account that was functioning properly, so I decided to create a UK account since I was getting some traffic from there. The UK account was closed after a few months after because a plugin was displaying the Amazon logo. They said I could reapply when all polices are met.
I fixed the problem but I didn't bother to appealed the UK account since earnings were very meagre. The US account was still working fine, however, 2 yrs later Amazon closed the account siting it was related to the closed UK account.
I tried explaining to them what really happened, and that I fixed that problem 2yrs ago by removing anything that looks like Amazon logo on my site. I even went ahead to improve my disclaimer. Yet I kept getting a template response that seem to be coming from robots.
I have messaged jeff@amazon and even the current CEO, Andy jassy buy all replies has been "we're right to terminate your account, good bye"
I have lost $1800 so far, and it's practically impossible to see the results I get with Amazon anywhere else.
