jschope, please clarify:
1) What exactly is the link you should put into your yahoo answer. Is it the direct affiliate link, or is it the link to your money site? Will these links stick, or is it a battle against time as the administrators gradually remove the links?
2) Can you clarify what it is you need to do to get your yahoo accounts to level 2.

i dunno about amazon, but it will probably flag up as spam on yahoo

The link you put in is directly to the Amazon product, but after you've turned it into an affiliate link. If you're already signed up as an affiliate, you'll know what I'm talking about.
I did this for about 6 months and never had any trouble with Amazon or YA. You're just recommending a product to someone who wants to know where they can get it, and there's nothing wrong with that.
The level 2 rule is new, so I just found out about that. It's really easy to get. If you're using proxies, you should be able to get level 2 in a day or two. It's just a matter of earning points in the YA system, and the amount of points you need for level 2 isn't much.
In the meantime, can you not just cloak the link? I've never done it before, so I don't know how that works, but that might do the trick.

Also, I've never had mine flagged as spam. It's not really even spam, anyway, if you're answering legit questions (and there are enough real questions on there that you don't even have to use proxies or post fake questions.)

"I got the Rebel XT camera for Christmas, and it beat my old camera by a long shot. I love this thing!" Then post the details of the product, blah blah. And then just put an affiliate link to the product afterwards, saying something like, "And you can get it on Amazon cheap."
Just try to make it look like you actually know what you're talking about and are speaking from personal experience.

I used to do this. If enough time and effort is invested, you could make some easy money.

I love the method and it works. The problem is that amazon only pays 4% in commision. That's why I stay far far away from them.

Thanks. I also tried this method and it works out godd for me. But it's a lot of work beacuse it takes a lot of time to generate the links and post them on the right questions. I think you have to find an alternative to yahoo clever because to many people are using this metod on JC.

I just watched a video on youtube about some guy who mentioned that amazon doesnt allow commisions from direct linking anymore on PPC, Does that mean that you cant also use Yahoo Answers for direct linking??

Amazon disallowed PPC because Amazon internal PPC team wanted to manage that stream of traffic. Amazon decided to move that business in-house as the cost of traffic was lower when managed in-house.
However, forums should be ok with them. Its a good method though.

To answer your question, yes, you can still direct link. However, when it comes to stuff like Google Adwords, you are no longer allowed to post a link that says Amazon or whatever. The reason is because it does not make sense to compete against.... well.... Amazon. If you wanted to post an Amazon Affiliate link on a message board though or something, it still works. Trust me.
