Amazon Affiliate Link Cloaking

Hey guys,

Hope you doing beyond well!

i started adding the amazon affiliate links to my review site, but then i noticed that when i inspect the element of the buy buttons of the "big boys" in my niche i see that they have additional code as well.

is this some kind of cloaking, is there a script you might have or can i just copy their script but insert my data.

sorry if this question is dumb, today is the first time that i even noticed that they don't just use the normal amazon affiliate text code.

any additional info you have will be massively appreciated.

Can you please share what additional info they are passing..whether they r using widget code ???

If you're linking direct from Amazon you have a couple of options a shortened code and the full code.

The only reason they'd be using a different code would be if they're also going through a plugin / localiser maybe.

May be they are redirecting certain country traffic to their country.

thank you both so much for your reply. since then i have learnt that their additional code was simply deleted to analytics tracking. now, though, i got 3 new questions if i may pls...

1) you know how you are supposed to nofollow links to amazon affiliates etc right? does that apply to images also? (example is i have an image on my site, customer clicks it and then goes to Amazon) I'm asking because weebly does not allow nofollow links on images.

2) do you maybe know how to change the color and code of html? example <a href="amazon" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Visit Amazon</a>
