The first suggestion I will give you is to read all the journey threads related to amazon. There are some incredibly detailed accounts of people going about it and you will learn a lot from there.
Keywords: This is very very important. This is some thing that even experienced marketers have difficulty dealing with. Pick a wrong set of keywords and you are doomed to fail from the start. If you pick a keyword that is even moderately competitive, some one starting out will not have the resources and means to rank them and give up. And if you pick keywords with low volume, you would rank them but get very low traffic. Usually, the suggestion is to pick keywords which are atleast 480 monthly searches and many people suggest to go for 1k monthly searches. Also, look in to buying a few keywords from BHW services.
Yes, I've read tons of journeys here, and you're right, it did help a lot. I might be doomed from the start because of my keywords, but there is only one way to find out.. I'll also check out the marketplace for keywords, however I find it hard to believe that someone would sell "good" keywords for under 100$. In my eyes you get what you pay for..
