Amazing idea for a social network..little programming experience

I have an amazing idea for a social network which i believe can gain huge success (maybe not nearly as much as facebook, myspace etc) but the idea has potential to gain good positive attention. However, I do not have much programming experience and having someone make the site for me would be
A: expensive and B: Leaking the idea essentially which is what i am mainly avoiding. Does anyone have any advice for such a situation? All feedback would be greatly appreciated..

Patent as much of the idea and surrounding/similar ideas before you go to any "partners", and don't get excited and start telling people
