Amazing Facebook Script that was just pitched to me

I just had a phone meeting with a guy who has a pretty amazing Facebook Script that I would like to know if anyone has ever heard of, can replicate, or knows where to buy.

He has software that can scrape any facebook fan page or user's friends list (without being their friend) and then send each person a personalized message or wall post. I thought it wasn't possible to scrape a fanpage but he has done it (using go to meeting I saw his screen do it). This is software he built from scratch.

He says he tethered his iPhone to use the 3g signal to a Mac Mini so the IP connection is 3g and Facebook has not caught on because it uses the mobile version of the facebook and doesn't try to mask an IP address.

He is making a killing using it for Nightlife promotions around the country. His price was $.04 per message. I loved the idea but figured I'd come one here first to see if anyone can replicate this software. I'd rather just build it then owe per message.

He says, and have verified, he can send thousands of messages. I was skeptical too. I don't understand how FB hasn't caught on. He said with 3 FB accounts he can send about 25k messages per month.

Btw, fb just changed a few things, I will need to update a few stuff then re upload it.
 
$0.04 a message??? man i could make a killing if people would buy at this price..
 
I would say this is possible! I assume it was private messages he was sending and not onto there wall?
 
If that script is really working, every one will try to grab on it then. Btw how come FB did not detect such activity?
 
this does work.facebook does not focus much on the mobile side of things. they don't have alot of security measures on the mobile side.its much easier to get away with stuff.
 
Yes it was private messages. So if I was able to scrape the users from a page with Parlez's script. Is there some software to auto private message someone? He had a way to personalize the message with the person's first name. I'm really trying to reverse engineer this guy's method.

As for using the mobile facebook, Just take a jailbroken iphone with myfi and tether to the 3g connection? How can you assure facebook is seeing the account logged in with the facebook mobile version on their end?
 
In terms of checking the connection you could always just goto google and search ''what is my ip address'' and see what comes up (it will be different than your home PC if it is working)

then you just connect via m.facebook.com

This method is actually pretty easy to set up.

Is it club promotions you want to do???

That's a $1,000 a month at .04 per email. You mentioned he was "making a killing" so I assume he's using a whole lot more than 3 accounts, not that I am putting down 1K/month for not much work.
 
You can't scrape friend lists you don't have access to (i.e. of users who only share their friend list with their friends and apps they use).
You can't scrape ALL fans of a fan page anymore. A limit of 5k was imposed some time ago, now I believe it is even lower (haven't done scraping in a while). You can, however, collect a lot of ids scraping comments and likes on page's posts.
You CAN send 25k personal messages to non-friends a month, but you need an ARMY of accounts.

Mobile version of facebook has a different front end, but it uses the very same back end, so all limitations are in place. You will get blocked and disabled before you know it.
 
Also private messages to non-friends will appear in their "Other" folder, which not everyone checks. So the chances of even seeing those messages are not very high.

Also you can grab their fb email add, and send them emails directly to that. Mix sending emails and messages from fb accounts to maximize sending rate.

Do you know, in which case it is going to which folder? And how can that be influenced?
