AMA Section

Sounds like a solid idea Tommy. I know you know a lot of the heavy hitters in the SEO scene that would likely be greateful of the invitation to an AMA on Black Hat World also. :)

I do indeed man.. I can think of plenty of well known SEO guys I'm friends with that would be more than happy to appear here for an AMA. Everyone loves a bit of free publicity and if it allows us to pick their brains it's a win win situation :)

I'd love to hear more feedback on this...

Lets do it - I've been tweeting Charles Floate (@GodOfSEO) and he has agree'd to be our first AMA guest.

Yes he is very responsive.. telling me about his LoveHoney purchases earlier!

Lmao now that's exactly where a posting fee would come in handy!

Make it interactive.

An AMA section would need to be created. A week before a potential guest, a thread is opened in the section with a notice of who the guest is, what they do, why they are getting an AMA, etc. Then, in the thread, people have 2-3 days in which they may post questions they would like to ask the guest.

After those 2-3 days, the thread is closed, and the best questions from the posts are chosen to ask the guest. A moderator or member tasked with doing so will "interview" the guest via FaceTime or Skype. This interview will be posted in a new thread, in addition to audio format as a podcast, and a PDF as a transcription performed by a willing and paid member to do so.

Responses can be given in the new thread, and potentially after a few days of this, the guest can come back with an account and respond to some of the questions post-interview. Completely interactive and transparent, and would bring some good-quality traffic to Black Hat World.

Very good idea, t0mmy. Anything I can do to be of assistance I will. I may be able to pull Dan Coffey from Instagram's Customer team for one.

Excellent man! This is exactly what I had in mind with a few nice additions. I think with members here on the forum highly skilled in their own areas, the contacts myself and other members like yourself have and the contacts BHW no doubt have.. we'd have enough potential AMA guests for a long time.

Great idea Tommy and read few great comment! I dont have much knowledge at AMA to contribute but support you guys, Carry on.

Hopefully it doesn't bring out the same faces as on the WhiteHat SEO conference circuit circle jerk tour, unique & interesting guests will make or break it.

Lmao now now who wouldn't want to read an AMA from John Limbocker or Matthew Woodward!??

Jokes aside I do agree.. Unique, interesting and outside the box thinkers would be the way to go here. There is plenty of SEO wizards not in those "circles" that put the likes of Limbocker etc to shame.. those are the type of guys who's brains I'd love the chance to pick.

And even go more controversial as well. I'd love to see what Chris Kennedy has been getting into since the Saucekit takedown.

Before my time but I think he frequented here back when shit the fan. A lot of older members probably know him and may still be in contact.

Seems to be a popular idea with members, but a month later and no input from the forum.

Appreciate you bringing this up T0mmy. We're always around but don't always comment on everything.

As oplaopla mentions above there are many ama's going on around the site we're just not in the habit of drawing attention to them.

BHW are attending UnGagged enforce in Vegas this year with many fascinating marketers and SEO's this is something we can promote to them as well as the board as a whole. I think the new forum set up will be much more suited to this ama scenario.
