Sorry, you have to put in a bit of effort. ;) This thread had some great questions, that were answered in-depth.

Speaking of, I'm always open for more questions regarding anything related to PBNs - keep'em coming... :)

OP, do you have any suggestion to regain the link authority on an expired domain that was spammed before?
Currently I purchased an expired domain with spam history (Japanese site), and there is strong backlink profile on this domain.
However, once I add this domain in GCS, and wait 1-2 months, it only show very few backlinks in GCS, those backlinks from the authority sites seem to lost, and this site doesn't rank its keywords even if 100% restore the orginal content from wayback machine.

The links are still live? Did you restore the URL structure where the links are pointed ? Or are they mostly pointed at the homepage?

In any case, I wouldn't personally use a spammed domain. Any domain that has even a resemblance of spammy jp or chinese anchors in the link profile is a no-go for me (personally).

The links are all live, and I have restore the exact URL structure as the orginal website from wayback machine, both URL & content is 100% restored, most of backlinks including those most valuable backlinks (backlinks from authority site) point at the hompage.
Actually the backlink profile is 100% clean, not spam backlinks, no spam anchors, the only problem the theme of this expired domain changed once, and I believe google detected it, and reset its backlink profile from its system.

Adn the site (and it's inner pages) were all indexed in google when you checked in GSC? No manual penalty messages? If the links are live and they are not nofollow, they should still pass equity, even if not shown in GSC.

No manual penalty in GSC, All webpages are indexed in google, and all of those "missing" backlinks are indexed in google as well, but not shown in GSC, and they DO NOT seem to pass link juice at all as the website doesn't even rank its brand keywords which are the anchor texts of those "missing" backlinks.

Could be an algorithmic penalty on the site. Feel free to PM me the domain, then I can take a closer look.

Hi, thanks a lot for all your effort.
I was going thru your guidance and about creating a new innerpage that will be the same like it was before is easy if URL is clean, for example;
domain.com/blog/how-to-fix-a-leaky-pipe/

But what if URL looks like this:
domain.com/articles/2004/09/22/news/news1.txt
domain.com/content/file/music/sdkljf_T.K.C._-_koro_no_hki_resing_py_exmental_live_b_dsfe.zip
domain.org/?lightbox=dataItem-iz756sdr4

Should we redirect them or still spend a lot of time creating them the same way they were before? And of course, in case there are more than 10.

Thanks a lot.

Yep, redirects are the go-to in those cases.

Would you mind if I asked you some question regarding this topic via pm? The reason is I have to wrote other people domain here and I think that's unethical

Thanks for your post
I have two questions
1. How many posts per PBN site have?
2. What about the domain dropped from YouTube description?

1. Really depends on the previous URL strucutre of the domain and how many inner pages we need to reconstruct with fresh content. But generally speaking, we aim for at least 10k words of content per PBN. domain. But we do have some with less.
2. Not sure I know what you mean?

Sure thing.

Nice thread.

This might've already been answered, but if I find expired domains which are currently not showing as indexed on google, are they still worth picking up?

Also, is there a preferred method to getting these domains re-indexed other than putting on new content and adding new backlinks? Maybe also running them through omegaindexer?

+ When checking some of expired domains in Waybackmachine they aren't showing any archives and have no history of the domains, is this a warning sign or can I proceed to purchase them and re-index anyway?

Appreciate the support :)

Of course, indexation is not a must (though it'd be great if the domain is still indexed).

We've never used any indexed. If you rebuilt the inner URL structure the site should pop back into the index within a few days.

Hard to say. How old is the domain? If its at least 3 years+ it's usually not a great sign if archive has no captures of the site. Having said that, if the site has some really good links, i might still go for it (cautiously).

Cool that opens up a few opportunities in terms of links, I would've typically thought the expired domain being in index would've been a must. But I will start to mix in a few with new content and see what results it brings.

Ok, so rebuilding the URL structure are you referring to internal links or just the external ones? i.e can I create a new set of pages with new content on the expired domain as long as I keep the URLs where the backlinks are pointing towards? (Sorry if that is wordy)

Site has some really good links and has 35+ DA with only 18 backlinks, so I will move with it cautiously. It is still indexed by google which would suggest it should be relatively clean.

Yes, basically replicate the URL structure of pages that have links pointed at them. So yeah, only internal pages.

18RD is pretty low, but if the links are strong enough, go for it. Seems like it's a relatively new domain (low age)?

Ok got it.

Yeah ok fair enough, yeah less than 3 years old it seems now. The links it does have are exceptionally strong and I picked it up on the cheap so figure it will be worth it.

Thanks for your help man!

Is it possible to explain on monthly PBNs and why people go for them?

Isn't one time links more cheaper? Is it the higher quality? Because if you spent 300$ a month you would only get about 5 links only per month instead of having another new 5 links your stuck with only five per month. Am I missing something here? Is that enough to bring lots of visitors?

You're welcome.

There are basically three main selling models of PBNs that I've encountered in my time:

  • One-off links - typically the cheapest option, yes. However, your post will probably roll off the homepage of the domain within a few days or weeks.
  • Monthly links (new links every month) - where you get new PBn links every month. This would only work well if you get links from new domains every month, which would be pretty nice. If you would get new links from the same PBN domains every month it's a matter of diminished returns.
  • Monthly links (rentals) - here you would rent a set of PBN links where the posts stay on the homepage of the PBNs until you cancel . It's probably the strongest way to use PBN links, but also the most expensive.

They all can work if the PBNs have no obvious footprints. But as you can see they also all have their pros and cons. In the end it depends on your budget and risk aversion.

I've seen more and more sellers that offer monthly rentals. Personally, I think it's the best way to offer PBN links, as you can account for decent unique content, proper hosting and weekly maintenance (with VAs) when you charge a small link fee per month. The one-off PBNs usually die a lot faster.
