AMA about PBNs (setup, footprints, things to avoid, et al.)

I have just now read this entire thread. Thanks for your time on it. Around the time BMR got deindexed (check out my join date :), I was made to pay for the myriad of manipulative techniques I had been using since the dotcom boom. I lost my own network of money sites, feeders, doorway pages, etc to deindexing. I got a real job. "Footprints" were something left in snow, not something Google used to punish.

I couldn't stay away. For the last 15 years I've been consulting on everything search. Now AI. etc. But I miss sitting in my office by myself for days on end working on SEO driven affiliate schemes.

I've been watching with interest to see who's going to reveal how hard the last update has hit them. In my circles I'm not hearing as much news as I'd expect. How has your network been effected? Are you concerned about the supposed coming May update?

I mean, it sounds like you've built a pretty bullet proof network, but the AI Google has been developing lately is pretty impressive. I'm overseeing in the 10s of $M budget in paid search and every month it's getting better and better at matching intent with advertisers. I can only imagine the tech they're applying to organic search.

On top of that I've slowly been acquiring expired domains for a personal project, and building out a small PBN. At this stage unlinked. Now I'm feeling nervous to use it. The trauma of losing my business still haunts me TBH, and even grey hat now... I don't know if I can handle the highs and lows! I've built a great consulting business, but I'd love to have some skin back in the SEO game.

Thanks again.

What do you think about the strategy of purchasing a high-quality domain (auction or expired), creating it as a money site, building links, planning a strategy to increase keyword rankings, and delivering link juice by linking to my other money site? (OBL1 ~3).

I think this strategy kills two birds with one stone: increasing money sites + having my own PBN. Is this a good idea?
