Am I overthinking dropservice niches?

Hi there,

I'm currently weighing out different options for a dropservicing (outsourcing) niche.
But chronic overthinking (and fear of failure) hits me hard and prevents me from proceeding (since I already failed one time).
So to be honest, I'm actually looking for a bit of reassurance.

I was thinking I could niche down an SEO service for medical practice (dentist, chiropractors) and just outsource to well rated freelancers on Upwork.

I chose this because I think local packages are easier to sell because of the lower price.

But then I become really afraid of how many things can fail.

1. Lead generation is the one I am really afraid of. Especially since it will be hard to get the owners direct contact.

2. They have no idea why they should invest in SEO and will think its some voodoo magic scam.

3. Even worse, what kinda guarantee can you offer with SEO? Maybe a traffic increase even that's risky.

4. Also I feel like it is overly saturated but thought I'm gonna solve that one by niching down.

I thought of content creation, but then it can't be dental or chiropractors since they totally wont understand the value and the price will be even higher (and to find a good writer harder).

And I don't like the other niches like social media management, video creation or websites (sucks a lot this one)

So the question is, am I right to be overly concerned about choosing a niche or should I just be like fuck it I'm doing it?

And also, would it be better to develop the skill I want to sell first or just jump straight into it?

Would love to get your guys' thoughts!

You cannot really offer guarantees with seo as results are not so predictable.

Have you considered offering PPC services?

Hey there,
I haven't due to a complete lack of knowledge. Also it seems to me that especially for small companies, it would be very hard to make profit since most of the companies work based on a percentage of the ad budget and a retainer fee? I was thinking they won't invest above $1k or something around those lines. Also, would be hard to offer a guarantee I believe.

I can completely resonate with how you are feeling in terms of the fear of failure. Once upon a time I would second guess every aspect of a new business strategy, anxiety would creep in and I would question why the hell anybody would buy from me. Why would they choose me over my competitors? Does my website look professional enough? Am I in the right niche? Will I make money?

It got to the point where quite literally said "f**k it" and steam-boated ahead.. only to fail.

The positive thing about failure is it provides valuable, lifelong lessons you can only learn from failing. Mistakes you will never make again. The fact you have only failed once before is encouraging, many of us have a lot more under our belt.

In a nutshell, there is no failure except in no longer trying.

Unfortunately you are over thinking again.

Good luck.

Spot on, that's exactly what's running through my mind!

So how did it turn out when you stopped focusing on that?

I guess with time it's also easier to accept failure and just see the positives around it.

I did too learn from my first failure.

With SEO, you can't really make any promises because the outcomes are so unpredictable.

Have you thought of providing PPC services?

GringoMonkey asked me the same above. Anyway, would you say there is an advantage with PPC that SEO doesn't offer?

I can see how faster results will be more attractive for people for sure.

That's good feedback. I wasn't really sure whether I am overthinking but now I know I am doing it.
You can guarantee ppc ads as they just pay and their ad is displayed and they just have to pay more to feature higher up.

If you are looking to outsource, seo it is harder and you cannot make the same guarantee.

That is definitely a huge advantage when especially when nobody trusts you. I will look into it, thank you.

For me, my anxiety of failure subsided (it never completely faded) when I started seeing results, albeit small.

When you start to see results, you begin to focus on new challenges such as scaling and asking yourself how you can double, even tripple your income.

Very well said! Appreciate it a lot!

promoting dental & chiropractors right ?
just upload videos of them cleaning nasty tartar and snaping random vertebrae
do that they'll have a second source of income lol
