Am i doing it wrong?

Hey,
first of all i'd like to appreciate the way you help people with all the issues they face regarding SEO, blogs and almost everything. Thumbs up to all of you for being such a great support for everyone.

I started my blog this year in Feb, and its been three/four months now, i post 4-5 article daily on average but i'm not getting enough traffic. Not moaning about more traffic but it worries me that people/friends who started blogging with me are getting 10x traffic then mine. Not bragging over here but my post quality is way better than them

i am not loosing my hopes here, i keep my blog updated and i follow all of your SEO tips regarding keywords and everything but i don't know what's the reason behind almost no traffic.

Since i am posting for the first time so i don't if i can post the link here or not.

I'm guessing you are either not doing keyword research at all or are doing your keyword research wrong before writing these articles..

At 5 articles per day, you should be pulling decent traffic.

That's what my friends told me, they write like 2 or maximum 3 articles per day and they're getting fairly 8-10K daily traffic!! Luckily one of them got his blog in google news which really pushed his traffic to 12-13K per day.

What can i do to increase my traffic, it feels bad when i put in so much effort and nobody reads it. On the other hand i know people who write below average and enjoying heavy traffic and cash as well.

You should be spending a lot of time on keyword research. You goal is to find high search volume, low competition and high CPC if you are monetizing with adsense. I think you are taking the power of keyword research too lightly.

The term "Phrases need pages" is key...

Whatever your niche, you should be able to find some keywords to rank for. I recommend getting a good keyword research tool like market samurai, watch there training videos before trying to use the software. This software is worth every penny, so don't sweat it. Mostly i write about technology, i cover news from Apple, Google, Microsoft and some social media news !!!

Start improving your off page SEO, you will get better result soon.

I would suggest using a tool like Google analytical as well to analyze your web traffic. You might want to consider increasing your search ranking by backlinking as well. And it's very important to have the right meta tags to tell google spiders what your post is about.

I am using google analytics to monitor my web traffic and where it's coming from, i am using related meta keywords, i think i need to learn more about this Keyword Research, i bought market samurai as recommended by "flexnds" trying to learn it properly i was using Google AdWord keyword research tool before.

But the question is still there i tried everything till now and it's not working out, and bros one more thing, i'm using Thesis 1.8 Framework on my blog and it has built-in SEO plugin so there's no need of using others plugin-in. Thesis' built-in seo plugin has an option of Meta Description wich i usually leave empty, Is it necessary to write <meta> description of post . It has three options :

1)
Custom Title Tag
custom <title> tag Search engines allow a maximum of 70 characters for the title.

2) Meta Description
<meta> description Search engines allow a maximum of roughly 150 characters for the description.


I leave it blank (i think this is the problem) there's another check-box below this box :

force search engines to pull a <meta> description based on the content of the page
I keep this option unchecked

Meta Keywords
<meta> keywords



I fill keywords according to post here.

It is like this scenario: You work hard 12h/day in a small coal mine (assume that it is your mine please). You grab tons of tons of coal in a month. You sell it on the market. And at the end you can only get some food for your family.

On the other hand, someone on the busy street of the downtown, with his small shop, just sell some cell phones and make much more money than you do.

So what should i do to increase my traffic? after this much time i still have to pull traffic through forums and other blogs.

Guys situation is getting worst instead of gaining traffic am loosing, now am getting half of what i was getting before.

No solution ?
