AM does not recommend any traffic source to affiliate?

I feel weird when my AM told me that they do not disclose and/or recommend any traffic sources to affiliate.

Me: "Besides PropellerAds, what are the other recommend traffic sources for mainstream traffic?"

AM: "Unfortunelay, we do not give any recommendation for traffic source."

Is this normal?

The eCPM of the offer is $30++

Why would they tell you what works as they might be using it themselves as well. I don't see it as their job to tell you how to do yours.
