I've been using Godaddy forever to buy my domains. In the past few years I find they are not trustworthy.

So the question is. Who else can I buy my domains from that is reliable?

Thanks and all the best!

namecheap, namesilo, internetbs All have good customer service. Cloudfalre is cheap, but you don't get support. You also have porkbun, which i havn't used, but i don't think i read anything bad about them from anyone here ever.

I felt the same way about GoDaddy, so I switched to a registrar that’s more straightforward and doesn’t push upsells so hard. Providers like Namecheap or Google Domains have been way more reliable for me, and their interfaces are way cleaner too.

We've been using dynadot for a while now and they've been reliable so far. They've been easy to topup via crypto too

“You can check out Namecheap, Porkbun, or Google Domains—they’re known for reliability, good support, and transparent pricing. All solid alternatives to GoDaddy.”

hostinger is a good option right now, but you have some other options like that.

Namecheap, namesilo are good examples of trustworthy registrars. May I ask what your unpleasent experience was with godaddy?

Porkbun is very good along with the other registrar mentions. I like porkbun because their website is modern and easy to use.

I use Internetbs for my domains.

I've been using them since 2007 or so.
2008, I just checked.

Over upselling.

One of my sites got some malware even though I was paying a premium and then they tried to upsell me again.
Then they used a bunch of fear tactics to make me buy the most expensive malware removal service.

In the past they also stole a domain from me. Found a great domain, bought it, then next day I saw it up for auction for thousands.

Just to name a few lol, in general just feels like they don't care anymore

Namecheap, Cloudflare Registrar, and Porkbun are all solid and reliable. Much cleaner experience than GoDaddy.

I appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks!

Not sure if there is a close thread button so this doesn't keep getting bumped.

Before I used Namecheap. Their service was also great. But now I want to move to Cloudflare due to a pricing issue.

i always use namecheap they have domain privacy and that is a must in 202x

sorry just saw your comment about bumping

yep, same happened to me. That's godaddy alright...

and this is definitely godaddy too :)

they never have. I've got scammed twice in a week by them back in the day (2009 or so), so they've been being pretty scummy back then too, I don't think they've ever been legitimate :)

Anyway, if all you care about is .com I think you should give UnstoppableDomains a try, they're selling .com domains (up to 100 per week, per customer, I believe) for $5 on Fridays, which is over 3x less than what Namesilo are charging me.

Now, I admit that I'm not too familiar with UD (I barely recently started using them, and only because I've purchased some domains from someone who had them registered with UD), and you might not like it overall (at least I'm not a fan of their interface and feel in general).

But - like I said - if all that you care about is registering .com I have yet to see a registrar that has better deals for this TLD than UD... and their support is pretty good too... and human too, none of that AI infestation that's clogged up all of the industries, so at least they've got these going for them that makes me consider them a solid option. Now, if they could also give up the crypto crap too.... chef's kiss! :)

I appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks!

click on the "report" button beneath your initial post and ask a moderator to lock the thread. But I wouldn't do this to be honest, as - as new great offers get discovered - people might want to mention them here, which will benefit us all. So, I would personally keep this thread unlocked, but it's your call, of course :)

I use namecheap they offer good deals but it seem like only the first year then price is much higher the second

Use https://tld-list.com/ to find the cheapest or be loyal to the one that you have the best experience with and that don't screw you over.

For sure Godaddy can only be the worse choice.
