All Google ranking dropped [used ai non spinned]

I bought a expired domain about 1 and a half months ago and it is fully ai.

It ranked and started to pickup on Google for about a week then dropped still hasn’t recovered.

Bing still has me rank high though, why could this be?

could be any reason....

- google are cracking down on AI content (which I've heard a lot of lately)
- the domain had been penalized
- might even be sandbox (although it doesn't look like one, but it's still possible)
 
Lot of webmasters on same boat like you. They are getting punished for posting AI content.

I have the same problem, but I'm hoping that my website recovers.
 
I don't know why people are saying Google are targeting AI sites. The opposite is happening.

It's targeting low quality unhelpful content, which may or may not be AI content. But it's nothing to do with AI. Plenty of human written sites have been hit hard and AI sites are taking up the positions higher up.

My stuff is relevant and valuable and super little competition. But I guess I'll wait it out

exactly. otherwise google would clearly state that they don't want AI content, but they say it does not matter how content is generated as long as it is helpful.
people in the SEO scene always jump to conclusions without evidence after every update. first is was spun/scraped content, now its AI thats to blame..yet all of it still works even full markov content.
its about how its done. if a site tanks it can have many reasons and doesnt always have to be the content.

Yep, and the common reply from SEO 'experts' is 'your content isn't helpful'. But Google have said themselves they cannot tell if content is helpful or not. Not without a manual review.

I do have a little theory though.

I think they have gone OTT with the helpful trust side of things. Google have said themselves they can not tell if a sites content is helpful or not as I said and in the HCU they said the signals have gone site wide.

So in my view, and it's just a guess, any site that has good trust signals have been upped as Google are assuming because some pages have that, every page on a site will be good, helpful and trustful.

Which is why we are now seeing what we are seeing, outdated posts and content that is anything but helpful.

There's a plumbing website ranking #3 for a totally unrelated keyword not to do with plumbing I saw the other day, which ties in with my theory.

They won't roll back, but they will tinker with it I think, John Mu said as much (Least thats what I got from what he said).

I wouldn't be surprised if there's another update come January or around that time.

So even if a site got 'hit', it might not mean that site has done anything wrong, it might just mean a lot of more trust worthy sites in Google eyes have just pushed that site down.

That's why it is important not to panic and do anything too drastic yet.

Also from reading about, I think a lot of sites that were just built for SEO and has lots of affiliate links/ads got hit, too.

hm good theory, makes a lot more sense than just blaming it on AI content ;)
its indeed more likely that their algo change caused huge shifts, despite the quality.
determining how helpful content is, is subjective and would even be hard to analyze with AI. afterall humans need to decide how useful the content is to them, not an algo or ANN..
as a side note, i heard from someone that his markov sites didnt rank anymore, but after the recent update they came back.

My content was never spun and I checked some of my content in a plagiarism checker and it says plagiarized, could that be the problem

My content was never spun and I checked some of my content in a plagiarism checker and it says plagiarized, could that be the problem
 
It's most likely due to the September Google Update. You bought the site at a pretty unfortunate time.
 
What it shows if you site:yourdomain.com on Google now? How many pages indexed?
