Hello. I have tried the cbox strategy but I do not see list of sites that have cbox. I only see those that want to add it to the site. Perhaps I am misunderstanding. What exactly should i be looking for?

Backlinks are not important any more. They are the key to build page rank but page rank is not a key factor in deciding how you rank.
 
I'd love to see a thread like this beginning of each year. With an overview of new techniques and discussion of what no longer works!

Great sharing. It is very helpful. But I also want to know to to get some high quality backlinks? My requirements for the backlinks website: 1) There are less than 10 backlinks to other sites on the target backlink website.

The target backlink website was never punished by Google And Most of the content on target backlink website is related to fashion
How can I get those backlinks?

PR is expected to be between 3 and 5 and hope There is no content or links about illegal content

The list of sites is great. Thanks for sharing. Although the info is old and some of these sites have disappeared. I found this great list of social media sites on wikipedia that can be sorted by page ranking. This is my first posting and I have not been here long enough to include a link. So here it is seperated by spaces and some info missing en. wikipedia. org /wiki/ List_of_social_networking_websites

Just found this topic and I found it very helpful. Gave the OP a "Thanks".

I agree that it isn't quite as useful now. It's still a fantastic and helpful post, but it would be nice if an SEO expert could maybe give us a 2013 version of this. Not really that necessary since this gives you a basic understanding of how to link build, but it would be nice.
