How many backlinks would you work on per month or week if you wanted to operate a site that is NOT going to get delisted?

It's not so much the number, it's the consistency. Here's what I've done:
Week 1 - 0 backlinks
Week 2 - 4
Week 3 - 16
Week 4 - 32
Week 5 - 64
Week 6 - 64
Week 7 - 128
Week 8 - 128
Week 9 - 128
Week 10 - 128
Make it look like a steady rise and stable plateau. You have to keep up the rate of link building if you want to go unnoticed. Build 500 links one week and 0 the next, and your number will be up.

Great post! Just nowadays there are so many ways to get back links and the hard part for me at least, is to make sure that I send the right back links to right blog, like you said about DP back links, for an instance, I am on that with two WH websites and I am sure big G will catch up on that, so really I am concerned on use it again in future projects, plus I have noticed that comments, forum signs, and etc. are very important I used to comment and sign with just any BS it came up in my head just to get an high PR back link to web site but choosing and placing the right Keywords has made a big difference when it it cames to ranking for those words, bit annoying though....
I'm definitly using some of these methods,
however those of you running a site that needs to be legit should hold back (ya i know this is the blackhat forum) .. article writing with blog linking is the best way to go.
or say you run a non-profit, find all the high PR other non-profits, libraries, websites in your vertial, ect... find the @domain.com contact and get linked. google jizzes it pants for backlinks like that. but like i said, for small blogs - these tools work great, and for legit companies, they also work...just be careful.

Dammm I just started to read and Im hooked. Ive been looking all over for this kind of info. I think in Bit torr a ebook on this but it wasnt as good as your how to guide. Im trying to get my site up in the enignes and this is going to keep me up all night posting.
