Hi guys,

I'm quite new to IM world but have a lot of coding/computer knowledge background. I have another authority ecommerce website in development, but that's another topic.
I'm fresh grad from a Master in Information System, and don't like the career path that I'm supposed to fit in, I have also been in shitty situations that gave me a lot of motivation and drive to be successful !
This journey will be used to keep track of my progress,
I hope I can learn from you, and help other people starting a similar journey !

Okay so enough about me, in this journey I'll try to reveal the potential of Aliexpress Afffiliates, with yarosss' plugin. I'll also learn about what works and what doesn't for SEO, social media traffic, how to spam effectively, etc...

What I have done :

-Get hosting
-Register a domain name
-Create a landing page for the homepage of this domain
-Do keyword research for subdomains name
-Create Partial match subdomains on this domain
-Apply for Aliexpress affiliates

For one of the subdomains :
-Install useful plugin : Yoast SEO for the sitemap,
-Once approved, bought the Aliplugin (5 licenses)
-Create categories that make sense, import trustworthy products
-Setup Google Search Console
-Create 12+ social network accounts
-Submitted articles to good directory websites
-Setup NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster for those accounts (sadly Google+, Pinterest and Instagram aren't available in the free version, looking for alternatives right now)

What I have to do :
-Create my own template for the homepage of subdomains (I'm using a language other than English, so I need more customization options)
-Shoot some video to explain how to use Aliexpress, and review the products bought. Goal : Make people trust Aliexpress, show them it's reliable, and have something on my youtube channel
-Do the same job for more subdomains
-Write some articles for the homepage of subdomains + write articles for each of the subdomains
-Get some backlinks

After this I'm planning to wait few weeks to see if I get traffic, and what the commission look like.
If things go as planned (like getting something like 1-5?/day/site on a regular basis), I'll try to boost traffic :
-If traffic is mostly social, I'll setup groups/community and use bots to grow them + my pages
-If traffic is mostly Google searches, work on the SEO (write articles + get backlinks + maybe try GSA spam)
-If traffic is mixed and the money rolls in big time, do both !

Why don't I start doing this right now ?

First, I want to see the potential of this plugin alone. Some people report doing 500USD/month by just doing setup & forget. That would be a good start for me in IM ! As well as a good basis to start improving. Sadly, some other people report they earn nothing at all lol. In this case, no point trying hard to promote it, and better switch to another project.

Thanks for reading, looking forward reading your thoughts.

Yes I'm, it's very straight out of the box and they look quite good.
Only thing I think js missing is being able to write custom descriptions for each category : I think it would greatly help the SEO.

However for some women-related niches, I'm thinking about totally changing the homepage design. Idea is to provide a mosaic with all items available. Unfortunately, I will need Yarosss assistance to do that.

Edit : small trick I just discovered, I had this problem and I saw someone else was asking, so let's share it.
Just above the footer, 8 products are displayed, the problem being that each line displays the same product.
The solution is to go to home page -> customize -> products ; then, you can choose your categories displayed. It then displays 2 random products from each category.

Work done yesterday + today:
-Created the second subdomain on a trending topic where the high end products come from chinese companies and cost 1500USD - on the lower end of the spectrum, you can find some for 30USD + cheap accessories
-Imported 3k products
-Wrote a 1k5 words "how to choose" / purchase guide and put it as a link in the header menu
-Found my next topic

I wonder what kind of link I can get for this kind of website...
I'm thinking about using a tool like GSA / No Hands SEO, but as I don't have experience with it I'd like some feedback on which one gives best results :)

My goal is to be well ranked for Christmas 2015 ! I can see my niches are very popular around Christmas so I hope to bank big time then

Ranking for Christmas is going to be hard, I'd focus more on social traffic if that is your goal.

That's true, but things can only improve compared to now. So getting few links, paying attention to the link structure of the website is important.
For now I only have 25 products indexed on Niche1 website.

I plan on releasing some infography around Christmas !

Hello bourrinfurtif!
My journey is very similar to yours: same affiliate programme, same plugin and high goals. However I'm not making it public (as of now).
As I'm newbie to IM as well and we are going in the same direction I think it would be beneficial to exchange ideas. If you want to teach me something and learn some from me, exchange experiences: hit me up on skype, matt95s.
Cheers and I'll be following your thread.

Nice talking to you over Skype, we got some cool ideas.

Today's work done:
-Got 90% of the 3k-ish pages of my Niche 1 website indexed
-Wrote a 2k8 review on an expensive item on Niche 2
-Got someone to write a "Top 10" kind article for Niche 2
-Rankings for Niche 1 is around 1XX
rankings for Niche 2 is around 2X - seems like I found a cool niche, that's why I'm writing so many articles for it

For today I am going to create social pages for my brand.

I also need to find a tool that can write my articles when I speak, I tried the Windows 7 voice recognition stuff but it sucks hard. I would also use it to rip youtube videos in a foreign language.

Small update :
-Niche 1 and Niche 2 both got 90% of their pages indexed in Google Search Console
-Created social Network pages for the brand
-Created an automated Tumblr for Niche 2, not using bots, just publishing content automatically. Already got 1 follower !
-Found Niche 3 website, I'm having a copyright question as it is at best dubious... seeing with my lawyers friends. If it's good to go, it has a lot of potential
-People don't find my websites with :"keyword cheap" but with "xhty899 HD", very advanced product names which I rank top 10 for. It's especially true for Niche 2! Hence a better traffic.
-Still 0 sales

==> I need to build trust around Aliexpress, I wonder what to do about it. Order a product and take a video the process + unboxing of the item ?
I want to have some jingle around my brand for my video, any idea where I can find a professionnal looking one for cheap ?

I'm waiting for some sales to fund either a PBN or buy some social media bots to drive even more traffic.

Updates:
-For Niche 2, I get a solid 20-50 clicks/day on Google, over 2000 display, that's good !
-For Niche 1, barely 1 click a day, less than 100 displays in Google
-Both had only ~3k products, I don't know how this works but I don't want Google to be suspicious so I'm adding few hundreds products a day, don't want to add 15k in one go !
-Niche 3 got sitemap submitted, thinking about a fourth niche now. Don't want to go the "dirty" road with my brand, even if that would work really well, I'm sure...
-Created an auto-tumblr about Niche 2 and a sub-category of Niche 3, both got 2 followers

I found someone that is going to help me write articles about Niche 2. It's kinda hard to do whitehat SEO for such a website, so we need to have articles to have a bit of legitimacy.
If I knew more about my topics, I could join specialized forums and talk about it and both get some backlinks + targeted traffic.

I still get few clicks and visit everyday, My SERPs are going down... the websites always start quite high and drop overtime... I got no link so I don't know why this happens!

Anyway, I'm thinking about buying GSA SER... this kind of project seems perfect to try this on! What do you think?

First sale on Niche 2 ! An order of 3 items worth +/-140USD, at 3%. Champaign !

Following up your journey mate! I use aliexpress affiliate as a popunder in a movies website in spanish and it generates $150 per month. I'm not targeting but lot of clicks + 30 day cookie generates for some beers. I hope you do well so I can copy you! hehehe

Thanks mate. Congratulations, that's a solid passive income!
For now I'm using this plugin and promoting single products, but I'm thinking about using it like you for other websites later.

I believe the new generalized 8% commission (starting 12th of October) will boost earnings, as most products are currently at 3 or 5%.

Congratulations on your first earnings. Ihaven't gotten a sale yet, I've only made some commissions on the products I've ordered for making video reviews, which I hope will boost the traffic.

The biggest traffic so far I've been getting on international websites, not English but my problem could lay in choosing the niche.

that's Google Dance, happened to me too.
one of my niche started with 10 keywords in 3x in first week, and dropped to 6x just after 2 weeks, and after another 2 months, got back to 3x with a lot of link building

Thanks guys. Yeah I think it's important to choose quite a narrow niche, don't choose "sports equipment" but "baseball gear"! Else your site is too diluted and you almost never appear in search engines... that's the mistake I made for Niche 1.
I'll also order myself some stuff and shoot a video of :
-why and how to order on aliexpress
-unobxing video
-review of the product

Small update :

For Niche 2 : published 4 new "review" of few products, each between 400 and 1000 words. It's basically just a Google translate of the English review, the language is corrected so that it sounds natural, I add pictures that link to Aliexpress and that's it. I can afford to do this because absolutely no content exists in my language about these products, yet there are quite some Google Search about them.

Here is a chart of the unique visitors over the last week:

stats 1 week Niche 2.png
That's around 20 UVs on average.

Also, I had around 50 clicks to Aliexpress before having the first sale, so we can assume a conversion rate of 1-2% for now.

I'll first focus on increasing the traffic, then improving the conversion.
