I agree that test still need to be done but reagarding the rock..i quote directly from the article "One stone, for example, had a density of less than 1 gram per cubic centimetre, less than all known carbonaceous meteorites. It had a partially fused crust, good evidence of atmospheric heating, a carbon content of up to 4 per cent and contained an abundance of organic compounds with a high molecular weight, which is not unknown in meteorites. On this evidence, Wallis and co think the fireball was probably a small comet."They found some micro algae in a rock they're calling a meteorite. When the article says their tests rule out terrestrial contamination, that strategically leaves out what was included in the tests, and how many parameters were tested for. The rule out could mean they only tested based on the presumption the formation was a meteorite, and found no sign the algae came later.
What if the 'meteorite' is debris from algae-laden rock hurled from a volcano, hence from earth? If they used dating methods and presumed they are accurate to determine the ages of the algae and the rock, who's to say if the presumptions are correct? Some rocks in Hawaii that are known to have been produced following volcanic eruptions in the early 1800's, radiometrically dated out to being hundreds of millions of years old. I'd say hold off the celebrations until it's known how truly comprehensive (and honestly self-critical) the testing metrics were.
Just busting! This may also address the origin of life too!Why..i believe this will only motivate them and increase funding!![]()
This "meteorite" has not been recognized as such by any meteoriticist to date, nor does it appear in the Meteoritical Society's online database of all known meteorites: (http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meteor/). It does not appear to be a meteorite based on earlier pictures released by this team, which were left out of the article here: (http://www.theufochronicles.com/2013/01/proof-of-extraterresterial-life-found.html), and for some reason is only shown in black and white. For more reading, have a look at this article which examined the "extraterrestrial" life found in this rock and determined that they are not only terrestrial, but are examples of organisms alive on Earth today (http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astr...wickramasinghe_of_diatoms_in_a_meteorite.html). Which is reasonable, considering their samples were "collected from rice fields" - not exactly a sterile environment.
Well its a matter of time before they do futher tests and release results. But preliminary results clearly show that the rocks on which the biological fossils hitched a ride on clearly came from space!Their 'tests' ruled out the possibility of terrestrial contamination but I'm skeptical. This happened in SE California like a decade ago and as science improved and clever people thought up different ideas/tests it was shown that the 'ET life' was in fact terrestrial contamination. Now, find some life not on this planet and I'll happily buy it in a second I certainly believe there is life out there somewhere.

Yh it is indeed a great leap towards understading life as we know it.If ur interested u could check out another article on how building blocks of life as we know can be cooked up in space if u may lol!Just busting! This may also address the origin of life too!
This aint no joke..i suggest u go check it out...they have all kinds of tests and evidence there. Its indeed ground breaking stuff if u think about it!
Yh it is indeed.Kinda makes me think how ppl might have reacted when they were told the world wasnt flat or when they prooved the earth is not the center of the universe.Truly historic stuff if it turns out to b 100% alien life!If you think about it, it's pretty damn scary. Can you imagine the worlds reaction towards aliens? You've lived all these years and you suddenly find out you're not alone.
Of course we're not alone...space is never ending so how the f*** could we be the only ones out there? lol.If you think about it, it's pretty damn scary. Can you imagine the worlds reaction towards aliens? You've lived all these years and you suddenly find out you're not alone.
