Well, partially related.. I'm working on a simple wordpress plugin that will simulate an alexa toolbar hit when someone visits your website (the alexa hit will come from the visitor's IP with their referrer and their current URL)... simple process and I'm in the middle of testing it for viability right now. I'll publish it in 4 more days (doing a week long test to see how viable it is)... I can say right now though... one of the domains that I am testing it on, it dropped my alexa rank from 9mil to 5mil overnight (the 3 month average)... and this is technically legitimate... updates will follow....

I wouldn't bother trying, I've searched for hours before and all you will get is crappy software with keys that don't work and when they do work hide my ip will automatically update your prog version, it's bs.
You're better off just using tor or something.

been trying it out; doesn't seem to be a booster for alexa rank so far. any changes on that, gonna post again. if not.. pish mush..

thank you everyone for this post, i found it realy useful
ok ive been using rankinhancer for 2yrs on different websites the first time i used it the new site i had was alexa rank 12 mill within 2 wks 9 mill i noticed the difference so i kept it on constantly 3mths later 2 mill then alexa rank tends to slow down a bit, i left it off for a bit maybey 3 wks and my alex rank shot back up to 5 mill i have noticed in particular it affects my yahoo rankings i notice when not use ing it for a while i go from page 1 yahoo to 3-4-5, so in all it works great i keep it on constantly in the background(when i can cos its a family computer and the little black hatters moan about seeing it in the corner of their eye) also i never had any trouble with alexa or heared of any alexa ban it think after 2 yrs 12 sites being blasted they would have said some thing by now!This oldie But Goodie is well worth a try i would recomend itany site or blog as long as you put your or some of your info on alexa. ulr ect.. they collect the stats of how busy your site is and alot of search engines go there and gather this info mainly i guess to find out which sites are getting hot traffic and visitors
