How far do you think AI will take content generation, from news articles to education materials. Do you believe that it maybe be possible to create such a advanced AI as to write articles with nothing but quotes, some stats and some other materials? I'm talking to a journalist level of quality. I've seen a AI write semi coherent articles but you could tell it was rather weird.

If we are talking about expert quality articles, then definitely not now. And not in the nearest future. AI not even close to understanding meanings.

State of the art natural language generation using deep generative models can produce text that sounds somewhat coherent and has decent grammar, but it lacks the clarity, flow, and purpose that a human writer can produce. I don't believe this points to an inherent flaw in the AI as these systems are very simple. The GPT-2 produced by OpenAI was trained using a language model that predicts the next word. That's it. It was large in the number of parameters, but simple in its function. I can imagine much more complex approaches using today's technology, but they still require years of engineering to train and perfect.
So, I believe that even without further breakthroughs, much better language generation systems can be built. But these systems will still lack the creativity of a human and require several years of well-funded development. Truly human-level writing will not happen in the next 20 years. It's too difficult to predict beyond that horizon, but our minds appear to be physical systems that will eventually be replicated.

It's very possible and easy to do but there's not much money to be gained from it. You can create an easy summary->full article by making a dataset of article->summary using text summarization tools. Then train your model on a vectorized version of the dataset. Now you can write a summary of something and it will be turned into a full article, with the quality dependent on your model.

Given there are plenty of High traffic "news" sites spun directly from datasets there is plenty of room for incremental improvements.

I'm thinking travel and personal finance/share prices etc...

I think it's possible. We developed so many things which we think was not possible or you can say impossible to achieve in the 19 century.

Can a human teach a machine context? Whoever figures it out deserves a billion dollars it hasn’t been done with images or text.

Id say Grammarly is the closest project at present and it's "stealing" I mean correcting a lot of content that's being created and learning from what millions of humans reject and what they accept.

I would not say it’s impossible rather I say it’s really really hard. There is already articles writing tool called WordAI, this is weird (if you compare with the human written article). But WordAI is quite good for thin content.

WordAI sucks if you're a native english speaker. The best results I get come from using DeepL or Google Translate.

I knew it & wrote it as well...

WordAI is good for thin content? What are your standards for "good content"
Even on high readable (which comes out 90%+ plagiarized if you use it on decent checkers), it still spews out gibberish.

I think AI will help with many different parts of marketing eventually.

I have thought about the schema project and decided that it's elementary school for the AI to learn the difference between a Cleaner (soap) and a Cleaner (job, person).

Schema does provide a grade school guide... if someones intent was to learn Humanity by reading code.

Just my thoughts.
