That's the hardest part. Even the AI guru aka inventor is very much concerned about it's growth.
I think AI can be a very nice relative for things you already do , for example if you are a bus driver , you can give the ai each bus stop , and ask it to optimize the route for fuel effeciency…. Just some basic example but you can use to achieve really cool things now which takes days to achieve .
I combine both. You should learn how to use AI as a powerful assistant to free up your time, thereby focusing on developing creative thinking and empathy, core values that AI cannot yet reach
Don't choose one over the other, combine both. Sharpen your critical thinking and creativity, which are inherent in human nature and turn AI into a powerful partner. When you master the tools, you'll be more confident and less anxious.
Use AI as an advantage,to what you already know
I advise you not to view AI as an adversary, but as a partner. You should combine both to hone your purely human skills such as strategic thinking, empathy and creativity, while learning how to control AI to optimize performance. Once you master the tool, confidence will naturally replace anxiety
I'd vote for control of fire, agricultural revolution, writing system, industrial revolution, electricity etc.
