Hi,

I see many members posting Ahrefs screenshots and no one using Semrush.

I'm trying Semrush with the 30 days trial.

So do you prefer Ahrefs and why ?

Thanks for your answer ;)

Best to have both.

But whats the goal? A lot of paid advertising go semrush, a lot SEO go Ahref

Oh ok. I try to use it for SEO

Thanks for your share

Both are useful if you can afford them.

If you are serious about SEO, I will suggest you to use both.

Both are best but Ahrefs may have the best overall UI.

Both are equally good for me backlinks in ahrefs and keywords in semrush

Thanks for your share. Maybe I'm wrong but i see backlinks coming more faster in Ahrefs

If you are serious about SEO, I will suggest you to use both.

Thanks. I have some fresh websites but no visitors and no revenue right now, so i will have to make a choice ;)

Uhm, semrush is very interesting tbh. For SEO and backlinks i d go with SEM any time :)

I am not sure why but I get a very different keyword difficulty level between the two of them.

Ahrefs KD is quite close to ubersuggest, keywordFinder, moz and spyfu. However semrush is way off. For example it is 5 in Ahrefs but 60 in semrush.

Maybe they use different parameters to calculate KD?

You're right. I also seen some differences.

Semrush is loads better at KW research than Ahrefs. You should completely ignore the KW difficulty scores given by Ahrefs. It is a great tool but this is by far the worse part. If KW research is what you want, Semrush and Moz both beat it hands down.

Ok thanks ...
So in conclusion, in my case it would be better to stay with Semrush and add Ahrefs later ...

If KW research is important to what you are doing right now, I would get that done with your Semrush trial and go to Ahrefs later. Semrush is a really good tool, in its own right and has a few cool tricks that Ahrefs does not have, but so is Ahrefs, and it also has some cool tricks that help a lot.

Can you mention a couple of the cool tricks of SEM please?
Or maybe point me to a good tutorial

Also MOZ KD is similar to Ahrefs
For example it's 22 in MOZ and Ahrefs but 82% in SEM :\

Heres one by Brian Dean that should clear all your doubts :)

Both are good tools.

Ahrefs for Backlinks audit, For Keyword research I always work with SEMrush.

Ahrefs probably the best one out there for backlinks and checking on a website's/webpage's backlink profile since they have the largest index out of all the SEO tools.

Other things like keywords and position tracking I use SEMrush.

The key is how much data? Goolge itself have the biggest database, but mostly keep it for themself, second largest database in my opinion is Ahref, third are SEMrush. I'm personally use Ahref for backlink analysis and keyword analysis (Ahref keyword a bit complicated to use, but once again, second to google in term of largest data for SEO analysis).
