Both are top of the line, most just prefer Ahrefs due to its UI.
There is a lot of debate over which one is actually better, though, and there are also some inconsistencies with the way they rank keywords. As in, Ahrefs may rank a keyword much higher than SEMrush, and vice-versa. If you can get both, you should do it because it would give you a broader perspective.
If you can only get one, just stick with what you enjoy working with.

Ahref & Semrush , both are a good tool, it depends on your goal that for what you are going to use the same.

Like I am using both the tool as per my requirements

AHREF : It is basically for Backlink Checker, Organic Keyword filter, Featured Snippet checker & Keyword ranking or explorer but not good for PPC or advertisement.

Semrush : Its is an all in one tool & I personally like this tool allot as it helps me in managing the report creating report dashboard as per my metrisc, helping in SEO based articles, and many more but most importantly for Ad copies & PPC here you can easily find that what your competitors are using in there ad copies which kind of creatives they are using & how they are performing

It depends what you want to use it for. I find Ahrefs is superior for backlinks but not as good as SEMRush for kw analysis (whether for ppc or seo)
 
Those tools are the perfect duo when it comes to SEO. I think Ahrefs offers more value when it comes to backlinks.
 
I really enjoy doing countless of hours doing KW research with SEMrush; their keyword magic tool is very easy to use.

So you pay for both? I pay $179 for ahref! how much do you pay monthly on these two?
 
Does the free version of ahrefs show all the backlinks? because on ahrefs my website has 1600 backlinks but on seoreviewtools 4000+.

The only thing that Ahrefs is far superior IMO is link research.
 
Both tools are beneficial for SEO. Both tools have their own advantages. You can use it as per your needs. Semrush is a better tool for keyword research and competition analysis, and Ahrefs is often used for backlink analysis.
 
I think Ahrefs checks the keywords and pages which are more traffic.But it is expensive and weak API.
 
They are both good softwares and it all depends what are you going to use it for.
If you are doing SEO research, go with ahref.
 
Using ahrefs from last couple of years
 
Ahrefs is my go to. I like Semrush but Ahrefs has a better UI and I find the keyword volume more accurate.
 
  • For stupendous keyword research use SEMrush.
  • To analyse your competitor backlink go with Ahrefs.
