Ahrefs Hacks - 4 Part Guide

Last day trying geasy's latest method, I found many domains getting tons of traffic and shares from pinterest with a really low RD and DR

Just realised I had a typo in my previous reply to you. It should have read - Yes. I have used the exact same image TONS of times. It all depends on your niche / target audience.

My accounts were all brand new, I have not had an issue. Just be sensible, don't go mad.

ok thanks, I created a new business acc, created a board and pinned something I saw went viral a few days ago, added a kw stuffed description, let's see how it goes

Pinterest is not exactly a hidden SEO method and what is being discused here, i.e. find pins that work and replicate is not rocket science. Using Ahrefs to help you find those pins to replicate is more unknown, hence the reason I thought it might help. Both work just fine for me and others (see above and elsewhere on BHW).

And i am telling you that getting organic traffic from Pinterest, since they have an ad platform, has become like pulling teeth, so you can "SEO" all you want but you won't get far, I did Pinterest for almost 4 years so I know what I am talking about, it isn't worth the effort anym0ore as you have to pay for their traffic

I am sure you know best, thanks for your contribution.

little follow up, zero impressions from yesterday :)
I chose a highly shared pin (50k) and copied their image, improved the description... and zero impression. I thought I'd get at list one or two haha.
That doesn't seem as easy to get seen on pinterest, chosing a highly shared pin is not enough (at least for me) or maybe it's too early to judge.

Hello friend, I do not understand the method because I have a bad English, but clarify the following: Once I find a post on ahref and pinterest, I copy the post, and I pay pinterest for advertising to send traffic to my affiliate links?

That's right? thanks in advance.

social shares option is removed for the moment...only Twitter shares is available. Strange, it was there a few days ago.

For my accounts I created several boards, downloaded pins from other boards with similar niches then pinned them as my own in my boards (used trial accounts with Tailwinds to stagger number of pins per day). I started getting repins, saves and link clicks from these quite quickly.

I then used the method in this guide to identify pins to copy, copied the affiliate page content and added it to my money site, changed the links to mine, set it as NoIndex, created a similar or better pin image and pinned to my board. All of my pins get impressions, most get saves and link clicks.

This pin was posted about 8hrs ago.

Different results but both got impressions. I repost underperforming pins a couple of days later, change the image, description, hashtags etc. Usually works.

Your niche might not be right for Pinterest, your title might not be catching attention or have the right KW's to drive views, same for your description. Or you might have posted at the wrong time of day, or day of the week for the intended audience. Pinterest definitely shows new pins more often in results, with diminishing returns for older pins with no engagement. So make sure you pin or schedule your pin for peak audience views.

This is exactly what I do for all my pins.

No, you find a pin to copy, make a copy or similar version linking to your money site, and pin it to your board. Thats it, simple.

thanks for sharing...great tricks.

Damn, do you have a link to that from Ahrefs side? Can anyone else confirm this?

So what I did was create a dummy ad campaign on Pinterest. This allows me to see the estimated impressions/clicks for any KW and demographic.

This is actually an easy and brilliant 'hack' for those looking to get an estimation on keywords traffic from Pinterest. Amazing share, mate!

Anyone else not able to filter Pinterest shares today? My ahrefs account only allowing Twitter today

Just confirmed with ahrefs. This is no longer available:

Buzzsumo shows social shares guys.
Thanks for the update OP, but for my case still nothing interesting. The pin I posted 3 days ago had 4 impressions until now. I copied a pin that was shared 57k times according to buzzsumo so I'm pretty much surprised with my results.
I don't have time to conitnue this method since it didn't bring good results for me, but maybe I'll come back to it later.

Ahrefs has a LOT of hidden gems which can help you make a decent amount of money. Most IM'ers focus on competitor analysis and KW research, but they miss some of the best hacks that Ahrefs has to offer.

So, after reading @Geasy's https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/probably-an-ahrefs-trick-you-didnt-know-about.1201374/and https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/another-ahrefs-trick-you-didnt-know-about.1202027/ yesterday, I thought I would share 4 other 'Hacks' which help me drive easy traffic to my site without any link building, and build killer content.

I will post a new Hack every week, so if you like what you see, be sure to check back for more.

Part 1 - Pinterest Hack

Pinterest is a great, no effort way to generate huge amounts of traffic to your site, without having to build any links or mess around with confusing on-page SEO, worry about KW density, number of words or any of the rest of that crap.

Here’s how I use Ahrefs to find my Pinterest content topics:

1. Search for a broad topic in Content Explorer
2. Add a filter for social shares - Depending on Niche, something like >10000

3. Find an easy target to rip off.

Scan the results for something which fits your niche and has a decent amount of shares. In this example for baseball bat, I chose something which could fit a baseball equipment or general sports niche.

4. Take a look at the pin image and post to get an idea of what works.

Ahrefs used to allow you to drill down to the pin by clicking on the red Pinterest share total on the right hand side, this does not seem to work at present. So, head over to Pinterest and type the name of the Pin we have found. In our example, this would be "12 Groomsmen Gifts We Love".

Tip: 99% of the time, a pin is created from a money page, so it will have the same name on Pinterest, which makes it easy to find ;)

5. Checkout the Pin design to see what is clearly working already.

We can see that this is the same site as on Ahrefs and that they keep it simple and tell their audience straight up that they can find all of these on Etsy (via their Awin affiliate link of course).

6. Replicate.

So all you have to do is create a new page on your site and add the pin with a few KW's. The beauty of this hack is the page you are going to create is really simple and it will take hardly any time at all to put together.

You can see this from the image of the example site below, it is pretty much a picture gallery with Awin affiliate links to the products on Etsy! How quick and easy is that?

Conclusion

A lot of IM'ers don’t know where to begin with Pinterest marketing, but using this simple Ahrefs hack you can start getting traffic and sales today.

Personally, I have had tons of success with Pinterest and this hack just makes it insanely easy to get ideas, content and traffic.

Let me know what you think and stay tuned for Part 2 of the Ahrefs Hacks Guide.
