I haven't used spy glass but Ahrefs is good so far.
In the best scenario, the more data the better i.e. BOTH, but if you had to pick one, I'd go with ahrefs since it has been giving the most results lately.
SEO Spy glass is pulling data from a number of sources (it's beyond me why they don't add api access for ahrefs and the similar ones but that's their business) and it's a great analyzing tool where ahrefs is just one source.
If you are on a budget, get SEO Spy glass first as it's a one time and will get you started. By the time you run out of sources (given that you are analyzing a broad niche) for links/outreach, you'll most likely be making money so you'll be able to plug aHrefs in that setup.
EDIT: If you are in fact looking into these tools/services for link outreach, I'd recommend you look into Link Assistant as well - M. Woodward has a video (or was it a tutorial) covering that and it's a nice start to keep things organized.
