Ahrefs backlinks

Hey everyone, have been analyzing my competitors using ahrefs.

What confuses me is that even though ahrefs shows a particular backlink, when I go to the website, I cannot find any mention of my competitor's website. I have right click -> page source to view the code but cannot find my competitors website anywhere too.

Am I missing something here? Thank you.

What could happen:

1. Link were deleted. (look at the date of last check)
2. Some content may be hidden from not logged in users

Thanks for the reply. Does the date last checked only show up in the pro version only? I am looking at the free version on their site now and the date is not showing up.
 
Usually shows up in every version. Are you looking at the Referring Domains report? Column is far right. Click arrow to expand domain links and you should see it.

Thanks for the reply. Can you let me know where to find this Referring Domain report you are referring to?

For me, I am running their free backlink checker tool and this is what I see (https://imgur.com/a/tFUx7Ak). There are no dates mentioned anywhere.
 
Bloody hell, didn't even know there was a free backlink checker! Learn something new everyday. I was referring to the $7 trial version (even after the trial has expired). Sorry about that.

haha, me too, i use majestic but ahref its the best, great i have try a free backlinks checker
 
Yep. They appears in a pro version only. Anyway - if you don't see any mentions it should probably be deleted or your competitor do cloacking (ewww)
 
Since I'm unable to post a new thread for some reason, I do apologize in advance if I hijacked this thread, but I have a question about the Ahrefs the lite subscription is $99 which is very expensive, I'm wondering if only one user will be using it, how many website can you monitor with this $99?

You can monitor up to 5 websites with this plan.

You could just email their support team. They’re pretty responsive.
