After you have had your three sales on Amazon?

Hi all,

A quick question. Does anyone know if Amazon ghosts/suspends your affiliate account whilst they review it after your first three sales?

I ask because I set up some Amazon.com affiliate links on a site last week and had three sales on the first day (about $60 in total). I then had ten sales on the second day ($160 in total), and then two sales on the third ($218 in total). The sales on the third day were for $8 and another one for about $210.

The $210 sale has not shipped yet and an after the initial sales it flatlined for a week despite increased organic traffic etc.

I then had three sales yesterday and just now received an email from Amazon saying they have reviewed and approved my account.

Any thoughts?

Never heard of anything like this. Your account continues to accrue orders and fees during this period.

I think after 3 sales you're approved to use their API.

I see. I don't use that anyway. I now have to work out how to get more sales

Congratulations on your sales and good luck for your future sales.

I have been working on Amazon affiliate website by side and I have created articles of 5K words by now and will get more soon and publish my website. I will apply for associates program after I get some recurring website traffic.
Any tips for a newbie on how to get traffic soon?

I had an old Google News website that was too small to get any traffic from Google News but I had written some articles on there and noticed they were getting organic traffic (lets call it 'Site A') so I set up a niche website 'Site B', and for a week put a link on each relevant article on Site A saying that there is more about the subject on site B.

The traffic followed and then did the sales... The sales happened from day one and i was not expecting them to be honest. So I then 'tidied up' Site B and added Google tag manager. Then the sales petered out despite me getting more traffic every day.

I assume it was actually pure luck. But I have spent the past week trying to see if I have broken anything lol

This is normal. Some days the sales are there, some days they are not there. However, once you start getting substantial traffic every day, there will be some sales every day.

Simon I want you to know you've inspired me. I've got an old weight loss site that I wrote a ton of articles for and then lost interest. I'm going to brush up the site and write some new articles with Amazon product links. I'm already approved as an associate. Whatever you're doing, keep on keeping on and best wishes to you. First time in my life I am hearing about something like that, for sure I have heard that if you are not bringing sales to them then your account is locked and you need to unlock it manually later on many possible schemes and deeds for all you want.

You're just too paranoid, you're fine. Sales plummet and go up without a proper explanation sometimes.
