After penguin hit, I have a question about Hosting.

My offline business got hit with the latest update... (I feel like I've said this once too many times lol)

My question is this... I currently have a hosting plan with Godaddy where the site that got hit is on there... now, I do have unlimited sites I could use on the same hosting... but should I use a different hosting site?

Also... I have 4 domains that I want to develop starting tomorrow... Should I host them on seperate plans, in seperate hosting accounts, on seperate sites? Or could I put them all on one account with multiple hosting plans? Or how about all on the same account, in the same plan?

Any insight would be most appreciated!

For starter I don't like Godaddy's hosting... There are better hosting provider with low prices so find better host.

When you create site you will most probably use GWT or GA on site for stats and when you do that it defeats the purpose of site on different hosting account or different IPs... You are trying to hide from Big G but you giving it access to your stats and it will know that you own all 4 sites...

If sites are in same niche then keep them on different IPs best on different c class IPs. Your host might provide this on one hosting account or you might get 4 different account for this purpose. No interlinking, no Google services try other analytics services so you don't leave footprints...

This was a great answer. I will say that they are NOT in the same niche... They are all offline businesses though. So I will try and rank them for their respective keywords...

Could I ask you... is analytics the only way google can track you? the only other thing I can think of is Ads...
and I will look into other analytic services... is there any you recommend?

Anybody willing to place their input? Not sure if I should seperate the hosting or not... and I decide not to, what steps should I take to ensure that if one of the sites are penalized, not all of them will be harmed?

And I'm thinking about using bluehost... I know it's a derivative of HostGator and what not... and I saw you were doing some split testing for hosting sites..

Did you find any in particular that you liked?
 
I wouldn't host with any EIG site's... Hostgator, bluehost, etc. What type of plan are you looking to get? I have shared hosting available if you need it.

I would not use Bluehost or Hostgator and would never send any business to Hostwinds either. I actually have a BH account and some sites there, but they are test sites and I almost don't care about them at all. I paid for an annual reseller account as part of a project and it's OK for my red headed step child project sites.

Someone here put up a list of hosts that are out there to use and I would be looking at that list and seeing who I was comfortable with; I do test hosts, but I test everything, and there are a couple that I like in my latest go around; asmallorange (crazy name) is not bad at all and rankfirsthosting has been decent as well with decent prices.

But checkout some of the guys in the marketplace and see what else is available as to hosting too and see what you personally like.
 
You should definitely use separate hosting for each site. Paranoia is good in this business :D

Also, the only reason people go for Bluehost/Hostgator, etc is because of their superior affiliate programs. They type "best web hosting" in google and fall for the first douchebag who's advertising crap hosting. I've only used Hostgator (and i quickly realized that it's a miskate) but I'd recommend you stay away from both of those.

There's entire forums (and large forums at that) that are specifically made to discuss web hostings, I'm sure you can find a better solution there.

I've also heard good things about some folks in the marketplace, although I haven't checked these personally. But I can't see them being worse than hostgator :)
