Hey guys, like the title says, what would be better? My goal is performance and speed. I am new to online gambling SEO, so I want to mainly practice but, of course, make some money. I can code, so if I decide to build the website, I would plan to use Golang for the backend, HTMX and, if needed, Tailwind CSS for the frontend, and a hybrid MySQL + NoSQL database (for transactional data, session management, caching, etc.).

What do you think? Is this a good approach, or should I go with WordPress?

Golang will be faster, but do you really need it for an affiliate site? WP + Oxygen/Bricks + LiteSpeed gets you ranking and earning quicker. Custom is worth it only if you have unique features or heavy real-time stuff.

Yeah, you are right and I also did some research, WP will be my go to for now, I was just curious, thanks a lot.

i think that’s a solid tech stack. if building your own custom engine takes the same time or less than dealing with wordpress, then yeah, go with your own solution—especially if you plan to run multiple sites.

another big downside of wordpress is security. affiliate gambling sites are frequent targets and have a higher risk of being hacked. if you build your setup on static files with no dynamic backend, it’ll be pretty much bulletproof.

Wordpress would work fine unless you’re going fully custom built and need more security and features
