Affiliate disclosure policy - What the hell is wrong?

I can see some networks asking affiliates to put a banner at the top right of the website where it states, that the owner will earn a commision for promoting the products.

Damn!!! Won't that drop down the conversions to nothing?
Day by day things are getting difficult...

Your thoughts on this?

Yes, it will cut conversions, and that's not the real desire of the networks, of course. They're only doing it because they have to (consent decrees with the government, etc.) - just another hurdle to clear <sigh>.

I guess life's becoming difficult everyday. Already the conversions suck! Now this comes to add fuel to the fire.

I've seen many websites doing well even after having displayed such disclosure. People like transparency, link cloaking does more damage than affiliate disclosure, unless visitors are not attentive.

Meh.
I already hammer on the idea that the reader should CLICK HERE TO BUY NOW enough that they'd have to be utterly brainless to miss it.

If any of my networks require this banner, I'll be far more pissed about the work of adding it to my sites. Chances are great that I would miss several just because I have some sites that I don't even remember until the registrar sends an auto-renewal notice.
