I'm relatively new to the space of Social Media Marketing. I got a pretty good client now and my role is handling his Instagram profile.

I'd like some advise. I'm mainly troubled about helping him handle the content. Working with a personal brand means I don't know enough about his day or opinions to write his captions, and of course I can't produce the images or videos for him... so what's left? What do you offer when getting hired for profile management?

I'm curious about how you structure these kind of jobs. Do you have them send content and you write the captions? What's our role in this and how could we work efficiently, but also make my presence (and payment) necessary and wanted.

Is he an exec or CEO or entrepreneur or similar?

I've managed accounts for those sorts of people. You just post inspirational quotes in the captions on a photo where they look cool or successful.

Example: "dream and you will achieve"

What type of personal brand is he trying to portray? Artist, executive, just random lifestyle... ?

You can talk to him and see what he wants to see on his Instagram account. Learn how he wants to be presented to the public.

Few tips

But the rule is general for all social media growth/branding related. Always provide value first about 80-90% of the time.
If you're not sure where to start, copy successful accounts. No need to reinvent the wheel.
One thing you always want to ask yourself before posting content, is the content easily digestible? Is the content worth sharing?

Here is an example for your niche (client) https://www.instagram.com/joetherapy/

Unless you are an IG model with a nice behind, then just post photos of our booty. In this case, tag other accounts that repurpose content.

Thanks, makes sense. By looking at other accounts I've indeed been getting some ideas.
