Hi all

It's my first post on this website.

I have read the stickies about the importance of creating articles with good content to generate traffic. My client is a local paving company. They are one of many around here, it is a very competitive area. I want to create a daily Facebook post and also a daily blog on their behalf to try and drive backlinks and traffic. I am a writer, so the process of writing an article should not be a problem for me. What is a problem, is understanding how I can think up good content for such an industry that seems so bland (laying pavers) and that I have personally no idea about. Also, I have tried to contact the client several times regarding this, to get photos from their day's work, and to get ideas, but they are so busy on site that I can never get anything back from them. I am bursting to start writing content but am struggling to understand how I can get the content ideas and photos to make daily articles about something like this.

Many thanks for any advice.

Have you thought about writing articles about exterior design, using pavers in exterior design?

I think, you should search in google about Pavement. You will get lots of article in there. Just try to understand, what actually they are writing. Try to grab an idea from there and start writing. That's called copy-writing. Try to find relevant images, then re-size that images. Simple solution. :)

Try to check Pavement you'll figure out everything.
Its one of the best place :)

Since they are local you can try to meet them at a job sight and take several pictures from different angles to get you started. Also pictures of the building, trucks, logos, etc. can go a long way. Or relevant images like caution signs, construction photos, work trucks, might be useable.

As for content, searching relevant terms like others have suggested is a good idea. If you get burned out writing generic content you can write about topics that would help potential clients. Tips for choosing a company, safety, news articles that are industry related. Once you start writing ideas will come to you just make sure you record them.

I love working with local companies (I am also a writer), but it can be hard to get something like what you are doing started.

Since I'm not a newbie in writing I guess I understand your issue ;-) I think you need a smooth transition. Start from the history of Pavement. It will be interesting for users and I'm sure you'll have many ideas for next posts through research. A good sense of humor won't be extra.
Good luck.

You can find a lot of ideas in any articles directory!

Regarding the images; you can download any image from google after filtering the search result to "available freely to use and share" through settings tab!

Cheers

Use Google's autocomplete query system.

A few suggestions should jump out at you.

Alternatively, you can reverse engineer your client's competition and figure out what they write about.

Any insider insight which helps potential customers understand the industry and make smart purchases,

Thankyou so much for these great responses. It's given me a lot to get on with and I now move forward with more confidence.

Best is to study your competition. It will surely give you lots of ideas and you will have the benefit of knowing what works and what doesn't.
